Help with crank ID
« on: August 27, 2017, 04:25:33 PM »

I purchased a used crank it was sold to me as from a 103 CVO bike.  When I do a part number search it appears to come up as a 4 " stroke not 4 3/8.  It does have black CVO markings on it, stamped not engraved.  Any help on what it came out of and the actual stroke would be greatly appreciated.  I plan on using it a motor from an 03 Roadglide.  Part # 2394099B on one side and 2395406 on the other wheel.  I can use it either way but I would like to know for sure what I have.

Thanks, James

Thinking you have a crank for an 88" motor 1450 cc. 4" crank.

It's not a 103 CVO crank.  Could be a crank from a 95" CVO as the only difference is the size of the bore to go from 1450 (88")  to 1550 (95").  The 95" uses the same cylinders as the 103" motor.

The CVO 103" motor was a stroker motor 1690 cc

Kind of what I was thinking to but I don't remember which CVO's were 95".  It supposedly came out of an 06 FLHTCUSE.  I actually have an 03 motor in a 93 Fatboy.  It pretty well grenaded when a chain tensioner shoe failed and the chain broke dug into the oil pump and rounded the D side on the crank. It's been apart for a while and I'm trying to play around and build a budget bar hopper.  The twin cam was already a 95 so not that big a deal but need to know to match up other parts.

If it's a 4" it did not come out of a O6 CUSE.  Someone is mistaken on this one.

Might have come out of a road glide or dyna

If it is a CVO crank, it would have to be from a 2000-2004 95" bike.

Early CVO 95 inch motor with a 3.875 bore. If it is you have a very good crank. Maybe not for a larger motor but they still built them tough back then.
