The Cascades Gardens is a little oasis just minutes walking distance from downtown Banff. It’s the perfect place to get off the beaten path.

The gardens are terraced into the hillside with pathways and rock steps that lead through trees and flower beds. Several gazebos and sitting shelters make a great refuge from the day.

Day 12 | Canmore, Alberta – Calgary, Alberta, Drumheller, Alberta – Canmore, Alberta

Enjoyed a ride down Highway 1A transferring to Highway 72 and Highway 9 to Drumheller.  Had a nice lunch in Beiseker at a small café in a smaller town.

Drumheller is a town northeast of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. On the edge of town, in Midland Provincial Park, the Royal Tyrrell Museum contains a large collection of dinosaur fossils.

There is a mystery here, waiting to be discovered. It’s carried in the wind… it gets into your bones.
Through sandstone and dust, something wild lives in this landscape. Echoed through history… elevated by adventure.

It’s the spirit of the Canadian Badlands and its right here in Drumheller!

Holy Bang A Gong!



The "World's Largest Dinosaur" is the name of a model Tyrannosaurus rex (T-Rex) and is 86 ft high and a length of 151 ft, considerably larger than the largest known specimens of the actual dinosaur which reached up 42 ft in length, and was up to 13 ft tall at the hips.
