Very good advice on draining the cooler. We have about 10 bikes pulling trailers in our group. We make jokes about tonga or tongue weight as in nothing taste better than tongue weight. Usually we wait until we get close to the event to load the ice chest with ice and food and we carry one of those collapsable ones for just beer. But then our trailers have pop up tents in them so average weight close to 500 lbs loaded, 325 empty. we do alot of Abate weekend campout functions.
So I'm looking to rent a trailer I can throw two dressers into to tow at least half way to Nelson, and all I find is these trailer you drag behind the motorcycle. Some are real cute, most look real handy.
Then I lock into the pop up tent trailers. They are about the same price as the trailers that just haul stuff - and from what I'm looking at, they can carry as much stuff as the others, plus their own tent makings. They look pretty cool. Not that I want to really camp - but the ability to pull over for two or three hours in the afternoon perhaps is not all bad. Maybe even one or two nights at destination if extra bed space is not available at the family's homesteads, but I am wondering, do you really use the tent ability with your trailer very much? Curious ----------- is all.
