Toyhaulers?
« on: February 08, 2018, 07:23:54 AM »

Let's Roll text me yesterday asking if we could get a board set up for toyhaulers.  He pointed out that there have been comments and topics over the years, in the past and that we need to have someplace that all the related topics could be found in one place.

We have a board for Pull Behind Trailers (such as Bushtec).  Giving this some thought last night, I was thinking that there can be a section for "Trailers" and then sub boards under that section for "Pull Behind Trailers", "Motorcycle Trailers-Open and Enclosed" and "Toyhaulers".

Putting up a poll to see what, if any, interest there is with the members of this forum.  We'll run this poll for thirty days.

Sure, make a sub section, but it could probably be limited to three daughterboards (or could it?).

Trailers:
a) Motorcycle (such as Bushtec)
b) Motorcycle (such as utility trailers that haul motorcycles)
c) Toy haulers, but that would encompass pull behinds, 5th wheels, combi's like the Renegade type.

And then there is the conventional 5th wheel camper that uses a platform attachment for motorcycles, "Idaho Tote", "Swivelwheel" etc.
Or, the Class A motorhome that uses a "Cruiserlift" style.

And you could add the pickup truck bed insert lift type.

And lets not leave out the guys that pull big heavy 5th wheels with a MDT or HDT with a motorcycle platform behind the cab.
I'll be looking for a HDT or MDT next year to haul our new RV that is being built next month. At 22,000 GVW just for the trialer I will be over my limit with the F-350 DRW.
And I will be searching for something that can haul behind the cab a bike, golf cart or Smart Car (only one at a time though, depending on the destination).

"Motorcycle hauling or haulers et al".

Of course, you could just let it run it's course and let the nay sayers that wouldn't be caught dead hauling a bike be the majority  :cherry:

I have been reading up on HDT's, dollar for dollar they are the best deal. I follow a HDT group on FB, lots of great information.

Been following HDTs for awhile, MDT's as well, but they are pricey.
There are multiple facebunk groups for HDT & MDT's

RVH Lifestyles http://rvhlifestyles.com is an up-fitter that does a lot of u-tube videos.

And if you are familiar with Jack Mayer  http://www.jackdanmayer.com he is now one of the principals.

Smart cars and similiar small cars are replacing golf carts and four wheelers for the drag racers and would be a good deal for the combo mentioned in this posting. You can drive them to town at night for a burger, can't a golf cart.

There you go. Maybe we could make a section for Electric vehicles with a subsection for "Golf Carts", "Motorcycles", "Passenger Cars", "18 Wheel Road Haulers", and "Riding Mowers".  :D  :nixweiss:

We're currently in a Heartland Torque T32.

We've looked at several units including the Grand Design which is real nice and have decided a Heartland Road Warrior 427 will be our next camper.

I missed out on a road warrior 43 in a sealed bid repo auction. They are very nice units

Mike, where is this campground?

The Grand Designs have some nice layouts, I like what they are doing with garage area. If you don't need to haul two bikes or a bike and cart it is very doable.
