Sena 30K, HD Freewire and CVO Harley Davidson
« on: April 04, 2019, 09:21:27 PM »

Has anyone had success with a 30K, Freewire and CVO HD.
I have followed Sena instructions to a "T" but here is what happens:

I pare the Rider and Passenger headsets
Turn on bike and loose paring but get music and prompt from navigation from the bike.
Turn bike off and have lost the pairing of the headset.

I want to pare to passenger, get music and navigation prompts as well as phone calls and messages while being pared to other Sena headsets on other bikes.

If you have success in accomplishing this, please let me know correct settings, pairing order and anything else to accomplish this.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

You must pair the riders unit to the bike first then pair the passenger unit to the bike. The whim is the master of the pairing and the headsets are the slaves.

Then if you want to communicate with others do a group intercom or mesh  in the configuration  setup menu.

Thank you for your response.  I don't have a WHIM, it's a Harley Freewire I'm using.

Your passenger needs a Freewire as well.  You cannot stream from one headset to the other.  Freewire acts as a bridge from bike comm's to the headset.  So your passenger must be connected via separate Freewire by their own 7 PIN connector such as a Ultra bike has.  Otherwise you can communicate by voice to each other with the mesh or bluetooth.   So each have to pair with the Freewire and each must pair headset to headset.  Very confusing i know.
I used a Freewire on my 16 CVO and although it generally worked well at times is did not like to connect between the Freewire and the headset and I would have to reboot it.  I also found that turning the bike to accessory mode while you were preparing to get ready to get on the bike and letting the bike electronics fire up and then turning on the headset worked best.  That way the Freewire is already getting a signal from the bike and can then connect with the headset.
