If a part came on the bike and was made in Jap Land, we have no choice. When we buy the cheapo stuff from Kurakyn, then we have made a poor choice. Bad enough on a Sportster, down right said on a SE bike.

DW, last I checked there was no "I" in we. The parts "I" chose are "my" choice. Its not up to you to criticize mine or anyone elses choice in parts. We all have our opinions and that's what makes this a great site. But the racist bashing of parts because they are made overseas is not needed nor welcome here. Last report I heard (and its been several years) was that about 23% of the parts on our bikes are from foreign sources. Does any one have a more accurate numbe on the overseas parts???

DW, can you offer a little explanation for your dissatisfaction or even disdain for this particular manufacturer?

An update on my pipes, while washing the bike today I noticed that three of the retaining springs that hold the shields on were broken [smiley=shocked2.gif]. Two one the lower right shield and one on the left lower shield. Thats the bad news...The good news is that i called Freedom today and they are Fedex-ing new springs to me on Monday, GREAT SERVICE!!!! [smiley=7.gif].

Has anyone else had them break???

Another item, not caring to much for the Freedom logo on the endcaps I took them off and rotated them 180 degrees, I had to drill and tap one new hole for the 1/4- 20 screws that holds them but I like the looks better [smiley=biggthumpup.gif] and you can't tell that they've been rotated unless you get way down under them.

There service is great I had the rear header pipe break at the mount where it bolts to the starter and they sent it out next day no questions.  I have had no problems with the springs.

i believe somewhere back in the beginning of this thread, before the discussion on the birthplace on different parts, someone asked to see pictures of the freedom pipe setup. if this could be done it would help as a friend and i are looking at changing the pipes and air cleaner on both of our 05 seeg's. thanks in advance to whoever for the pictures. I broke a spring while doing the install.  Freedom sent me a couple the next day and I have had no problems since.

The numbers I got on the dyno were 94 hp and 97 tq.  This was after changing the map too.

When you put on the freedom or rhinehart pipes it opens up the area behind the rear cylinder and the ugly black starter comes into view.
