OK here's the deal!

Originally on the SEEG I put some Samson 29" tapered mufflers.
You could look in one end and see out the other.
Knowing that the 103 needed to breath, I felt that these pipes would be fine.
I already had these pipes so I figured why not.

I also had a DFO Tech Illusions fuel controller that I installed. The bike ran better
than stock, but not that much better.

Over the next few months I talked to, asked everyone I came into contact with about what is the best combination. Bet I got at least 200 different combinations. All of them great, but none with dyno and personal experience feedback.

After reading the dyno and Freedom threads many many times I decided to call Brad and Mark at Freedom Cycles. Their professionalism and experience made up my mind to go with their package. Based on discussions with others on this site I felt that the Freedom package was my best option.

I had the Power Commander (preprogramed) and the Freedom pipes shipped to me.
I installed the items last week and all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I expect everything I have to be ALL it can be and with this package the SEEG has become a very awesome bike. I have only praise for this combination.

I can and will highly recommend this package to anyone looking to keep the motor stock but wanting more USABLE power.

I havn't been a fan of the rinehart pipes in the past due to the low end losses.  With the changes to the pipes made by Mark and Brad I do believe the Freedom pipes are as good as you can get. I even left the Freedom logo turned up on the end caps so there can be no confusion as to the pipes origin.

Also  Mark and Brad "DO" know how to make horsepower. The pipes are not my last purchase from them.

And no,,, there will be NO dyno runs until I can get up to Tilleys.
Not sure when that will be, way to busy riding and having fun!

Well, that's quite an endorsement.  I've found, after a couple of thousand miles on my Freedom package, that the bike make plenty of power for everyday riding.  I was most impressed by the fact that there was little or no loss of low end power.  I had Rineharts on my '04 RKC with a Stage II 95" build and had to install the 2" baffles to move the torque curve downward.  I miss the hook at 4000RPM but the only time I really used it was for passing or playing.  The other thing I noticed was that I haven't had so much as a deceleration pop out of the pipes.  I haven't bothered to have it dyno tuned either and probably won't until I can get the bike to Reno during late May or early June.

Enjoy!

Music to my ears.  I'm in the middle of installing my freedom pipes.  Waited to get a my new bend-pak ranger lift, which I got late last week.  PUt the bike on Sunday and got the stock exhaust off and the headers on last night.  With a little luck, I'll have the freedom kit finished for the weekend, my hog tunes on, the McEwan oil gage in the fairing, and my HD MP3 player on.  Can't wait to try these.

Next thing is a set of progressive 440's.  Had my son on the bike this weekend and decided suspension's next after I get the pipes finished.

Anybody know of a skilled dyno person in the Boston or south shore area?

How do the Freedom pipes sound compaired to the stock Reinharts ?

They are a bit louder and deeper. They have a larger baffle than the Reinharts.

When you say larger im assuming there baffle is opened up a little more than the Reinhart. Is it still a straight through shot in the muffler?
Thanks David.

David

You can see straight thru!

The Samsons were straight thru but the Freedom pipes holes are bigger!

[smiley=nervous.gif]  Is that a unmechanical explanation posing as an answer to your question or what? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Yep; Straight through. I think they are a 2.5" instead of a 2" like the Reinharts.

That depends on when you bought the Rineharts. The size of the baffles have changed a couple of times. When I put mine on and loaded a map from HDmaps.com it ran terrible, with decell popping and starving for fuel at mid range.  When I talked with Mat at MMG (HDmaps), he informed me that the Rinehart baffles had changed (again) and sent me a new map that runs great with no decell popping, and great mid range.

By the way, Rick said no one has called him from our group to report disappointing dyno results. They sound like they want happy customers and willing to help anyone, so call them.
Also, I asked about the PCiii version and he is shipping the latest and greatest which includes the 250rpm increments. [smiley=1syellow1.gif]

HD-Dude is exactly  right!
I'm not real impressed with the springs. I broke two. Had the Harley shop order me a eight pack.  I have heard the new rhineharts use hose clamps instead of  springs [smiley=nixweiss.gif]. Talked with Mark at Freedom and he said he would check into maybe changing their pipes covers to the same.
