Passenger Floorboard Question
« on: March 18, 2007, 05:45:32 PM »

I'm ordering the parts to replace the stock rear pegs with Passenger Floorboards, and use the pegs as Highway Pegs. The P&A is a little confusing as to all the parts needed. Can someone please confirm if I have everything covered.

I'm planning on ordering:

50357-04 Swept Wing passenger Floorboard Kit
53070-00 Chrome Passenger Floorboard Brackets
52312-07 Ironside Passenger Floorboard Insert Kit

It appears this covers everything for the Floorboards, but I'd like to be sure. Is there any other hardware or part I'll need.

Also, to relocate the passenger pegs to Engine Guard Highway Pegs, I was looking at:

50830-07 Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit- Angled-Short

Has anyone ever used this type before. With only a 32" inseam, the regular Engine Guard Clamps aways left the Highway Pegs a little too far away. I thought these would take care of that.

Thanks for any help or comments on this. I was going to order them today, if possible.

Howie, that should do ya for the passenger footboards, but you might want to look at the brackets that came on the '04 - '06 Electra Glides.  They've got a little more style than the plain ol' square brackets.  The part number in my parts catalog is 47373-04, but I couldn't find that part number on the Harley website.  Maybe it's been superceded? :nixweiss:

This isn't the greatest picture, but it'll give you an idea of what they look like:

Hello Hoist,

I had the same parts, and I needed also 50938-04   KIT, PKG QTY OF 4 PIVOT PINS  (approx 10$).

Cheers,

I haven't paid much attention.  What's standard on the SERT in the way of pegs/boards for the passenger?

Good call, Louis.  The parts manual for my SEEG shows the part number as 50933-86, though. :nixweiss:

Thanks Brian. I don't see that P/N in the P&A Book. They show P/N 52714-04, for an '04 SEEG. They also say it fits '96-'06 Touring Models. I didn't know why it doesn't list it fitting on '07's. Does it? I told you the Book was a little confusing. Is that the one you're referring to? Will it fit my "07 SERK?

Added: Both Parts show up on Zanotti's look-up. Your P/N shows up as a Bracket. My P/N shows up as a "Kit". Yours is $60 cheaper. Any idea on this? Thanks

Thanks Louis and Brian for the info on the pins. WTF, why aren't they included with one of these kits? Typical MoCo!  Also, which Pin is the right P/N? :confused5: Hoist! 8)

Added: P/N 50938-04 is correct for the pins.

Yeah, sorry, I looked again, and the number I gave you out of the parts manual for my SEEG was only for one side.   The kit would have both a left and a right.  As far as whether or not that'll work on an '07, it should as long as your swingarm bracket looks like mine.  I know they went to some adjustable bracket on the '07 Electra Glides, but I'm thinkin' the models with footpegs kept the same brackets as before.

Thanks Brian, that's the same bracket though, right? I don't see why it wouldn't fit. They show the regular chrome Bracket I listed earlier, for '93 and later, so they should all be the same. I'm usually pretty good with Parts matching, but they don't make this one easy. My SERK Parts Catalog only shows '07 SERK Parts, so I don't have Rear Floorboard P/N's to compare, since it came with Foot Pegs. Those SEEG brackets are nice! Still need the pins though, huh?  ;D Hoist! 8)

Don't know where they came from, but Elvis had some spacers on the brkts for the rider footboards that are like 1" thick when I bought the bike. The spacers put the boards that much further out from the frame and a LOT more comforable. Seems to me there was a thread about it back in late 05. Anyway, if someone knows what I'm talking about, I'd like the info as well since I want to put these on LD.

Thanks

Yep, those are the ones!

I guess if I understand Louis' post, you'll still need the goofy pins.  Sorta surprised they wouldn't come with the floorboards, though.

Maybe using the one I originally asked about, you use the existing, as they're replacement Brackets. The Kit I referenced from the SEEG might have them since it's a kit. For $7, I'll order them just to be sure. So it appears I'm set with ordering the following:

50357-04 Swept Wing passenger Floorboard Kit
52312-07 Ironside Passenger Floorboard Insert Kit
52714-04 Chrome Passenger Footboard Support Kit
50938-04 Pivot Pin (4)

Do I have it right now? and do these items include all the hardware I need? Thanks!

And Chief, thanks for the SEEG Parts page. It'll be more $ to order that way than the kits, so I'm trying to use the P&A stuff.

Howie I ordered the first three parts you have listed but did not order any pins. Dealer installed at delivery and if pins were needed they did not mention it nor charge me for them. JJ
