You can bet they have it listed low to know the riders will be over, liability is always the driver there I imagine.

I would say the average two up would be a lot closer to 375# than 300#.  Plus all the gear etc.  At least on a solo trip most everyone would clear the gross limit.

No wonder that bitch is so tough to push around though, I thought I was getting soft the other day sliding it around in the showroom.  I guess that would be one reason to spend time on the DWG3, easier to toss around. :huepfenlol2:

The red bike uncrated with a published wet weight of about 850.  With the king tour pak on it passed over a scale rated in a range where it'd still be accurate for it's weight and showed over 900#.  Given how big these pigs are they actually are surprisingly nimble.  Don't get me wrong, nimble they really aren't.  But they do surprisingly well.

That's one thing I love about the V...I'm flat footed, it "only" weighs about 625 or so...feels like a feather after getting off the Ultra.  I will actually push the V around without being ON the bike.  Not the Ultra though...the only way I'll move her around is straddling it.  It's just too easy for her to get away from me, and once past a certain point, my gimlet ass is not going to even try and hold it. ;D

One thing I was completely shocked at when I rode my bike for the first time was how nimble it felt, when moving.  It's about as nimble as f'ing elephant when I don't have my feet on the boards though.  Really, the bike is easy to handle at speeds over 15mph.

That first roll off after they do the work on the legs is quite a surprise isn't it TC.  You're geared up not to expect to feel any difference just putting away from the store.  Then, surprise, you do.

The downside (ok, not really downside at all) are that in very short order you get used to the new feel.  So you come to expect it.  What'll really suck is getting on a "normal" bike now.  They'll fill like swelled hogs that just left the buffet waddling back to the mud hole.

Thanks to this thread mine already feels that way just from listening to you two go on about the new feel.  That's why mine are gone and I'm riding my office chair for a couple of weeks.

Man what a DW, anyway it's going to be 71 here Friday.  Always have the DWG3 for those warm days.  It's good to have backup.

Well, it's going to be in the 30's for a high in Virginia Friday/Sat, so you got him back.  It's even going to be only in the high 50's here this weekend, near freezing at night, but some wind, so the frost won't bite all the flowers, I hope.

Oh...I sold the Ducati!!!!!  Hate to see her go...

Oh...I sold the Ducati!!!!!

That's good news (and bad news).  But congrats on getting her done.  At least it's more room downstairs now.  The Duc may have handled better.  But you gotta admit the V-Rod looks a heluva lot cooler.

There's always more out there if you miss her.  Everytime I go another direction I end up right back on a hog of some description or another.

It was fine piece of machinary...nothing else quite like a Duc, but the V is more my style for a "fun" bike, and makes a better bar hopper.

Now, if I just get the traxxion front end on the V....

The exterior of your legs are certainly far better looking than that set they had at the shop.  So, when the time comes that you just can't stand it anymore, get yours worked on rather than swapping parts with them.

Yea, the legs they have are not something I'm interested in...would be nice for someone with the stock legs, like Jorge.  The suspension is a different matter though...road trip on the Vrod?

Seriously, I wonder the traxxion would feel on that bike with 34 degrees of rake?  Got to have a bit more "sticktion", just from the rake, but would probably be as dramatic a change as we've felt with the big bikes.  I can scrape the pegs on the V pretty easily...you'd be surprised how well it countersteers, even with that fat tire on back.
