Roger-

I emailed Mike early this morning about the status and didn't have an answer by 3:30 when I left early from work.  Hopefully I have a like email when I get to work in the morning from UPS..   Maybe they did ours both today-only can hope.  Thanks for the update on yours.

The sent it back ground so I think they get here on the 23rd.  No really issue with that though since I'm tied up through the weekend anyway.  I'll hope your email is there in the AM, it was sent at 7:06pm EST.  Do at least they work late.

Thanks for the update Dan.  A special thank to the fellow(s) that worked over this weekend.   I should receive mine tomorrow.  I will be gone this weekend but should have them on before I leave.  Roger may still have a writeup before me on the forks.  I can't remember exactly but I think I shipped them 19#'s and I'm getting back almost 32#'s..   Either Traxxion is sending me a much better box or they have some heavy fork oil in Georgia .    ;D

I received my forks yesterday and put them on last night.  I can do these sorts of things but nothing comes easy for me as it took me 3 hours to put back together.  If I had to tap the RH fork  out of the triple tree I should have known the new one wouldn't fall back in like the LH side so I sand papered the upper opening so it would slide in (only had 18 days to do that).  Had the handle bars cranked to the left so the ignition switch housing could be put back on and the LH side of the console slipped inside of the lower fairing and luckily didn't scratch the paint.  By the time I hooked the battery back up and hooked up my 3 accessory positive leads to the battery less the main cable, I figured it wasn't safe for me to ride being that dumb/tired-mainly dumb.  Then I woke up at midnight wondering if I had put the wheel spacers on the correct sides-fortunately I did.

I drove the bike to work this morning for a total of 7 miles thus far (at under 50 mph) and I was more into wondering if the front wheel might fall off than paying any attention to the forks.

I can say that I didn't have much settling when I got on the bike before, but there is basically none now.  With the old forks if I was on the bike, held the front brake and rocked forward and back the forks would give about an 1" and now hardly any.  I intentionally hit road surface irregularities and it seemed much better than before.

The sheet that came with my forks said they were set at 1 1/4 turns out from lightly seated and they were.  You get a little allen wrench to take the knobs off so the upper nut will slide over the adjusting shaft.  They returned all my old parts.  The old bushings looked like new (at least to me).

So far it is positive and will know alot more after driving some miles in different situations.

Bob wins :2vrolijk_21:  I think is has something to do whit stroke and distance....oh that's a different game, anyway initial ride sounds great...other than the thought of the wheel dislodging.

I think mine get here next week.

Thanks Don for the kind words, no truer words spoken. I know I will appreciate the new front end a lot more.  Should have waited til this weekend for the install when I had more time but had other plans.  I did beat TC in bed by a few hours though with him working on his new wheels.  I remember him saying the $100 Traxxion charged him for the R&R of the forks was well worth it.  It wasn't hard work, just more stressful for me than anything.

Understand completely Bob.  For someone within range of them a hundred bucks to do that job is surprisingly fair (read: cheap).  I was silly enough to actually go there to do it.  But it was just an excuse for a road trip and to go meet some new friends.  Most important part right now is you've got yours done though.  Hope you're as pleased with it as Terry and I have been.

I got the install completed this morning on my '07 FLHTC and all I can say is WOW!  It's as if there was no dampening at all with the stock setup.  You really have no idea how bad the stock setup is until you ride with these.  This is an upgrade, that for me, was totally worth the investment.
