License Plate Frame, '05 SEEG2
« on: November 09, 2004, 01:22:04 PM »

The 2005 license plate mount is very close to the fender and only has attach holes at the top of the frame.  I did not see any frames at the Harley shop that would fit and look good.  Some are too thick and big and others have four attach holes.  Has anyone found a license plate frame that looks good on a SEEG2?

A friend has an Arlen Ness billet license plate frame that might work well for you.  It is not much wider than the plate itself and has hidden hardware so you could get by with only attaching on the top (no open holes showing on the bottom).  He has his on a '04 SEEG with layback license plate mount.  It has double grooves in each of the four corners and goes well with the H-D Stealth pattern on the floorboards and grips.

Might be worth a look. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I was looking at this this weekend. I'm not sure how the hidden hardware type frames will work as there does not seem to be enough clearance between the back of the frame and the fender.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]I'll be watching this post for ideas!!

Heres mine, A Ness Alternative. Unit has hidden fastners so I removed the lower "slide" and screws of the fender bracket, bolted the plate/frame to the upper mounting holes that remain. I bought this one at Biketoberfest to see if it would work, now that I know it will I intend to buy a Billet one with a Chrome back cover and do it better, but this one looks O.K. for now.

I'm having the same problem in Maryland, only it's more complicated because we are one of the few states that has an 8-1/4" by 4-1/2" plate.  I would love to hear about any solutions.
