Yes, I wouldn't pay that either, LL! That's why this thread is here, really, me being a cheapskate!

I do a lot of touring - over 40 countries so far, so I need a good GPS, and really, it needs to integrate with the bike audio. HD's cheap crap built in one is useless, and a phone is far from ideal. My trusty Garmin 590 (as a 595 now) has been to all of these with me, but the problem is that the ordinary Garmin, whilst it plugs into the bike's audio, does not generate the tone that the Roadtech one does, so will not interrupt the other audio sources - so if you are listening to the radio, for example, you don't hear route instructions. Effectively, if you want to hear them with the Garmin branded one, you have to only have the Garmin as the source you listen to - that's not too bad, as you can load it with MP3 files too, but I've always disliked the fact that it doesn't interrupt other sources. Hence my desire to have a Road tech one, but not at HD's ridiculous (as usual!) price of ££££

Yes, the Garmin does all of that too, and more.
The ideal, of course, is Android Auto, as is possible the latest touring bikes' GTS audio. But I'm not about to pay the price for one of those bikes!
