They do look great, no question.  Actually, it seems they should have been stock. Now my reverses I got stock look like an afterthought. Dammit Harry!

I would love to tell you how I came by them, but you know everyone would have them then and what fun would that be :)

Actually because mine yellowed I spoke with the factory rep at Bikeweek and he ok'd getting new ones.   These just happened to be the ones delivered.   Actually I think it was a mistake and I was asked if I wanted to keep these or reorder for the right ones.   I just thought these looked sharp against the motor vs. the stock ones so I kept em.

Luckily I also have a set of brand new stock ones if the need arises to put them back on for whatever reason.

Did they have part numbers?

Thanks

Yup, the stock tags have been revised with a new number, need to look in parts book.  HOWever, the recent change MAY have been to black and silver, from the ones we have, a few dealers were showing them in stock, but ran out of time to check on it.  Bottom line, I think the cuse2 part book part number revision is now for the black/silver.  retail  4.95

The A probably imeans it is the new look.  Rhino, can you verify that part number?  My SERK parts book has 29517-07 for the orignal version.  Should that first number be a 2?
$5 each is not bad.  If that's the right part number I'll get me a set.

Only the original P/N 29517-07 shows up on Zanotti's Look Up Page, $3.60 ea. No Part Found for 79517-07A or 29517-07A. Could they have changed it without changing part numbers? Hoist!

Hoist,

If you check with Harley on the part number you have currently and the there is a new replacement for that number it will say superceeded by and give the new number.

Thanks Harry, that's what I thought. Maybe the new number isn't on Zanotti's system yet. Do we know whether P/N 79517-07A or 29517-07A is the correct new P/N? Hoist! 8)

The part number for the original ones I believe is 29517-07   At least that is the part number I have written on the 2 stock ones I have in my hand :)

Unbalanced,
Did the screws come out easily?

FYI

I just ordered a set.  The part number 29517-07A was not active at the dealer, but it was at HD.  The parts manager had to activate it so it could be ordered.  I figure this may be a low production item because in the future it will be cast into the head.

My bike was built late March the black tags are on it. Buddies SEUC that arrived in Dec has the silver ones. :nixweiss: Must be putting the new ones on later bikes.
