Amplifier Recommendations
« on: June 18, 2024, 01:28:51 PM »

I recently purchased a 2020 CVO Ultra. The radio was working but no sound coming from the speakers. I removed the fairing and discovered previous owner had removed factory amp, hacked the wiring and added 2 aftermarket amps with a crossover. I removed all of this stuff, would like to go back to stock boom audio, but concerned about the harness being all hacked up and how I would be able to properly wire it. Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

To be quite honest, it would be cheaper to have a shop put a decent aftermarket setup in it than reconstruct the boom stuff. You'll have better quality also. I'm sure that head unit was flashed for the aftermarket stuff so it would need to go back to the stock flash if you really want the Boom stuff.

Will likely need to go aftermarket, just not a lot of shop options for this where I live.

Give Volunteer Audio a call....they make plug and play aftermarket kits and can probably supply the needed harness as well. Amps, speakers, wiring, whatever you need. Jay is very knowledgeable.  He can ship you what you need and walk you through the install.

I looked at their website and all of the systems for the CVO require you to have a BOOM Stage 1 amplifier. If that is the case that will not work. Will give them a call to clarify.

They do make replacement systems that don't use the Boom amps---if everything is gone you would better off going that route. Boom stuff is pricey and to be honest, aftermarket will be better at less cost.
