I bought my bike in February with the 135 upgrade and had the dealer put on the Sawicki Racing exhaust. My intention was to have it tuned by Gene Thomason, who helped Steve design TTS years ago and has tuned both of my other bikes (a 19 RG with 131 and a 12 RD with S&S 124 HO). When the dealer installed the exhaust with the Harley tuner, it ran horribly, so I put the stock exhaust back on until I could get it tuned. Unfortunately, Steve at TTS had not yet "jailbroke"
(think that's the correct term?) The ECM so just been waiting (runs pretty damn well but sounds horrible!).
I have made the bike into a "project bike" so I have not got it yet, but it got finished today. Called Gene and sounds like they (TTS) are just about there to release to the public BUT have not yet tuned a bike going from a VVT to non-VVT so he said it may take them a while (weeks) to get it done. I am going to hold on as I haven't even broken it in yet and hope that someone else can be their guinea pig other than me. I won't use any other tuner other than Gene and TTS, so hopefully they get it figured out soon. In the meantime, I am fired up to finally get the bike and start breaking it in this weekend, even though we are having a crazy heat wave in SoCal. Usually I would do the 1000 miles in one weekend, but with this weather it will take me 2.
I will cross my fingers that someone else volunteers to be the guinea pig soon!
My 2019 CVO limited now has over 100000 miles on the clock.
I voided my warranty after 1000 miles with the TTS tuner.
I went with a 124 parts kit recommended by Steve G in AZ who did all my tuning since 2009 on other bikes.
On my 124 a friend here recommended Steve C on his dyno except Steve said his dyno room was under remodel and he’d call Gene T for the dyno tune. This was back in 2020.
(COVID) time!
Trailer time to Gene for the break in, then a couple weeks later for final tune after 1500 miles.
This 124 makes great torque and good HP and I haven’t changed anything on the tune. He did a great job listening to me and asking questions about my riding style.
This engine has the stock bottom end (105000 miles) and the barrels on up has about 70000 miles and still running strong.
It’s nice to have friends in the business who can guide you on a build!
