A friend of mine recently purchased a 2023.5 CVO road glide. He has owned it for a couple of months now. He has constantly had radio issues that the local Harley dealer has been unable to fix. It has the most recent infotainment and amp updates. The radio will not work nor does music played via Bluetooth. You can see the countdown on Bluetooth, but no sound comes out of the speakers.
At least a couple of times they have told him it’s fixed and when he gets there the radio does not work. They supposedly had the bike connected so that Harley Davidson could remotely do the downloads. They said it was fixed and it was not.
Poor guy is getting pretty frustrated and I don’t blame him. Anyone have any advice on what he should do or what the dealership should look at.
The infotainment screen has been replaced for an unrelated issue. We are wondering if maybe it’s an amplifier problem.
OK my wife has a 2023.5 CVO Street Glide. She had a continuous problem with her sound system. Basically when she turned on ignition before starting, the Amp wouldn't fire up. It appeared that everything else booted up and worked fine. But no sound.
My local dealer told me this is/was a known problem. The only fix they had is to remove 60 Amp fuse. Here is the process. Turn on ignition, remove left side cover. Find fuse behind little rubber cover booty and pull fuse. Turn ignition off. Keep fuse out for say 5 to 10 minutes. Reinsert fuse, cover with booty and reinstall left cover. Turn on ignition allow everything to boot up and sound should work fine.
To my knowledge there is not permanent fix for this yet. I have been told it happens while the bike sits idle not being ridden. In my wife's case it happened randomly. Sometimes if bike sat for 2 days it happened. Other times her bike may sit for 2 weeks and it didn't happen.
We decided to replace all the Rockford Fosgate stuff with Hertz from Volunteer Audo. And have had no issues at all since doing that. IMHO Hertz blows Rockford away for power, volume, clarity everything.
Good luck hope this helps.
