Recently purchased a new to me 2015 Ultra Limited. Looking for Bluetooth intercom recommendations. I ride 95% of the time solo, and seldom with a group, what I am looking for is for my helmet and then easily movable from helmet to helmet for the grandkids. Wanting something simple for them to use, they are 9, 6 and 3 and two more that are littler. I take the 9 & 6 year old on longer rides, the 6 year old generally just around town for now. I live I a small rural community of less the 3000. Been looking at both the Cardo & SENA, open to others

I have the Sena headset, once you get the settings right on the radio it works fine, power on and when you start talking it will recognize you are talking and open the com for whoever you are linked with.  Downside is on longer rides, I keep a portable charger in the tourpak and when we stop for lunch Ill charge it up because otherwise mine doesnt last more than 7hrs which is a problem on longer rides.

Harley has claimed 10 plus hour life back with the 10S, then said a soft ware update would fix it.  Never did.  Then the said the new improved 30K would last 10 plus hour, it never did.  Now they claim the  50S will last 10 hours.  Like you, 7 hours is about all I get out of it.  Harley says an update is coming to improve battery life.  I seriously doubt it.

It works great.  My only issue is battery life.  My wife's cardio doesn't last any longer.

I put a aftermarket battery in both my sena 20’s and they last all day and most of the next day if I forget to charge it at night!

950 mAh off Amazon a few years ago. Direct replacement.

That is interesting.  I didn't realize they had replaceable batteries.  I'll look into this.

So when you say all day, you can get 12 hours or more out of the replacement battery?  Does it last longer than when headset was new?  Looking I see I can get 1200 aH or a couple 1500 aH.  I know the larger will last longer.

I found a video on replacing the battery on the 50S.  Looks like it just takes patients and finesse  to get it apart.  Batteries look to be 20 dollars or maybe less.  My search shows several fit the 50S.  I will do more research on batteries.

I would be much happier with a 12 hour use time.  Like you its mostly carplay for music and maps.  Once in a while open mesh.
