Having worked five years for a Japanese manufacture, it was 10 years ahead planning with a rough plan for 20 years.

I did not know that, thank you.  Catching up 10 years is possible, but 20 years is stretching it for an unchanging company.

Harley has failed to plan for the boomers who love Harley's to be dying off, or aging out of the market. I know right?!?! At least give them reverse before forcing them onto a trike for Gods sake.  They didn't plan well on how to attract future generations.  Singing to the choir here! Most other manufactures have inexpensive starter bikes, mid price medium bikes and then the expensive bikes. HD tried for starter inexpensive bikes with those 500 and 700, but they never took.  When people want a Harley they want a Big Twin.

Live Wire is a great idea.  Should have been heavily pushed in the Cities, and a much lower price point like its competitors.  Its a blast to ride.

Local dealer refuses to sell them.  I get it, it will not fit the riding we do around here.  Typical lunch ride is 250 miles.  I can not ride it from my home to the dealer and back with out a recharge.

I've only seen the LiveWire in action twice, one by a local rider who just buys bikes when he's bored.  We had to stop our ride short and look for a charging station for him.  And the second was Scarlett Johansson in "Avengers Age of Ultron". Other than that you'd never know they existed if you looked for them on the street. Same with the 500 and 700 series

The director who resigned and his firm have launched a campaign to oust Zeitz as CEO and from the board plus remove a couple other board members. Hope the effort is successful. Way past time for this in my never to be humble opinion.

Excellent article!  It cites leadership that is out of touch and often at remote locations and not on site doing what needs to be done.  Hopefully the movement to replace him and others takes, and is then replicated in other areas as needed.
