Hey all, I just recently came across a 2007 CVO RK with 3700 miles on it. I know, its virtually a brand-new bike, the only hitch is its been sitting since 2011 and hasn't been fired up in two years! I know that pretty much any and all rubber parts will need to be replaced and the bike will need to be completely gone over front to back to make it road-worthy again.  My question is, should I even consider such a bike or would I be better off going for something newer? Also, I am mechanically inclined but I've never owned any HD bikes and don't want to get over my head.

Do you have access to ALL the records?  The reason I ask is because 2007 was the first year of the CVO 110 engine and it had issues that needed to be addressed by recalls and after market options.  There were crank run out, lifter implosions, cam lobes getting chewed up, base gaskets leaking, compensator problems and crankshafts that slipped or scissored.  To be fair not every bike had all those issues, but by and large most had one or several of those issues.

So do yourself a BIG favor and ask to see ALL the service records, ask any servicing dealership about any outstanding recalls.  That's your first step.

If you surf this site for 2007 CVO 110 issues you will find a lot of material.

Welcome to a great site.

All I can say is I have over 165k on my wonderful '08 EG Ultra CVO and she still runs strong.  Fortunately I have had no serious problems with it (touch wood) and I have no doubt my Duracell will keep me happy in the saddle until my riding days are done and I go convertible sports car full time.

Good luck with it and hopefully you have the same good fortune as I have enjoyed.
