131 tooth secondary belt
« on: June 23, 2025, 09:54:45 AM »

Some time ago, I rebuilt my primary with a 32-tooth Rivera Primo compensating sprocket (instead of the stock 34-tooth), with a pad on the tensioner, to compensate for the stock chain.

Following the gearbox bearing failure, I reverted to the original 34-tooth compensator and purchased a 30-tooth drive pulley (instead of the original 32).

The 133-tooth secondary belt is too long, and according to my calculations, I would need a 131 (or 132) tooth belt. I'm not sure which is the best option...

The problem is that Deluxe has a 24 mm belt, and I can find 132-tooth belts, but not 131-tooth ones.

Do you know of a suitable part number, or have any advice ?

32 to 30 sprocket transmission
« Reply #1 on: June 25, 2025, 06:21:48 AM »

Hello, I am replacing the 32 tooth transmission sprocket (40659-06) by an Andrews 30 tooth.

I can't move rear wheel axle enough to use OEM belt, so I need a 132 or 131 tooth belt...

Someone already made this change on its Deluxe? Any advice for the belt, or other ?

OK I posted twice, in the transmission topic, and in the Deluxe one... Sorry, I wanted so much to have an answer...  :(

I went back to the shop and made measurements, oem axle position, completely front, and the back.

So it seems that 132 could be use, but 131 is definitely the right solution.
The only 131 / 24 mm I could find is American Prime Mfg. Very expensive to get it from my location.

But the rear sprocket is large enough to be compliant with 1" belts.
In this case, it's easy to find the OEM ref 40046-07, or S&S 560-0390 or others...
