Anyone Mount a Trailer Hitch???
« on: September 08, 2025, 02:56:36 PM »

I'm interested in which trailer hitch might be best for my future CVO Tri Glide, I hope.  I say I hope because I'm hoping that they will bring back the CVO Tri Glide for '26.  If not, I will get the Tri Glide Ultra and dress it up a bit.

But in the meantime, has anyone mounted a hitch?  It looks quite straight forward, but wondering if one is better than another.

Thanks in advance!

I have no knowledge of mounting the hitch onto a triglide.
I did put a Bushtec hitch kit on my CVO Limted and was easy . So if they make 1 for the triglide Bushtec is the brand I would buy.
Call Todd at Bushtec, I saw he had posted on the Bushtec trailer group on Facebook that they were gearing up to make the kit.

I've not rode a Tri-Glide however, I have pulled three different Bushtec trailers and I would suggest you look at the heim joint style hitch that uses the pin and captured ball rather than the traditional cup and ball hitch.  The heim joint hitch there is no slop in starting and stopping like there can be with the cup and ball style hitch.

Looking on the Bushtec website, when I clicked on "hitches" it took me to a web site for T&J's but they do have a hitch for Tri-Glide.....   https://bushtec.com/collections/motorcycle-hitches/products/hitch-2011-current-harley-davidson-tri-glide

Dan, I put a Bushtec hitch on a 2014 trike for a neighbor not too long ago.  Bushtec's site then said it was the same through 2024 but didn't show anything at all newer so likely hadn't been updated.  If the 25 and 26 models haven't had a frame change it would be a consideration.  Also the install on to the TriGlide was easy.  Like drunk ex-girlfriend easy.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I just took off my '09 SERG's Bushtec trailer hitch.  I've got the SERG for sale and really didn't want to be burdened with questions about using a hitch on the SERG.  I pulled my light Harbor Freight Tag-A-Long light trailer to Eureka springs two times and didn't have any issues.

One last question about the trikes.  Did Harley upgrade the clutch/drive system for the Tri Glides and the extra 300#???

Thanks again guys, Dan
