Mark That Puppy Up, Way UP!!!
« on: February 19, 2026, 08:22:59 PM »

Back in September, I went down to Motown Harley in Taylor MI and rode tested a 2025 Tri Glide.  Not that crazy about the Tri Glide, but thought I could get used to it.  I was only there for the test ride as I live 2.5 hours north of them.

After the sales manage tried everything in the book to sell me a '25, I held my guns and walked away.  They kept after me via text and e-mails.  I will say they have their chit together on following up with potential customers.

I was introduced to the GM of my local dealer, Hole Shot Harley 20 miles from home.  We hit it off right away.  He said that if I wanted a '25, he would beat anyone's pricing by a far margin, and I believe him.  But, I wanted to take my chances on a '26 and "HOPING" that they would make some changes and even possibly have a CVO trike in '26.  To my wonderment, they did both, redesigned the trike AND came out with the CVO!!!!

He's discounting me off of MSRP and treating me VERY good all around...  He placed my order on 2-2-26 when the actual ordering opened up.  I had a deposit since September on it.

Today we drove back down to Motown Harley to see their Tri-Tone CVO they just got in.  I had told the salesman back in December that I had placed an order with my local dealership and thanked him for all his following up.  Talked with him yesterday and asked if it would be okay to come down and look at theirs and he said yes.  We got there this afternoon and it was gone, SOLD.  But, it was still in the warehouse and we were able to look at it.  It is beautiful for sur!!!  Will try to get some CVO Street Glide ST bars on order for it soon.

The young lady that took Linda and I out to the warehouse brought us back to the sales room and our salesman was now available.  He wanted to try to sell me a CVO trike.  I told him the deal I was getting from my dealership and he said, what if we could do a better price?  I highly doubted that though.  He said he had to tell his boss that I was not interested and I believe he told his boss my price from Hole Shot.  He came back and shook my hand and said that it was nice to know me.  I asked about his "deal" and he said his boss told him $69.999.00, non-negotiable!

They sold their first Tri-Tone and one Costal Blue already.  I can't believe they're asking over $10k "market adjustment" today.

I hope they have rich people in Detroit area willing to pay WAY over MSRP for CVO's.

Are any of you guys getting quotes over MSRP?

I should know soon about my estimated delivery date and VIN.

How many of you guys are going to splurge on a new CVO Trike?

Thanks, Dan

Same here, on my 10th cvo. Half bought new and other half lightly used. I've learned not to purchase cvo's off the showroom floor. Inevitably the bike you want will show up 1-2 years after initial purchase with less than 1500 miles on it with a hefty discount from the initial purchase price.

I was part of the original staff of Motown Harley when we first opened in 1998.
I still have friends that work there. in 2022 I wanted the new CVO Road glide. I went to Motown and dealt directly with the sales manager.
He swore I would get the "alumni deal" and he would take care of me. When the bike came in he called me on the phone. I asked the price?
You could hear him calculating everything; Lets see...MSRP + Shipping + Prep (now kinda muffled) doc fee + + +, Ah, lets just call it $60K otd.
I about had a heart attack. I hung up and called Capitol Harley Davidson (where I had also worked) and ended up buying from them.
Hole Shot in Mt.Pleasant is a good dealership.

I'm with Kojak...wait two years and save more money than you can count!  I'll never lose as much money as the original owner did, no matter how long I keep it!

The reason they charge 'market adjustment ' is because some people are stupid enough to pay it.

Just saw a guy on Facebook Harley Trike Owners group and he has a new '26 CVO Citrus Heat trike.  I asked him if he got it for MSRP or something else.

He paid $65k and the Coastal Blue was $60k.  He's in Franklin OH, it that matters.

I feel very lucky that I'm getting mine for under MSRP!  I will say that I'll be a very good ambassador for the dealership.

I think for now, most dealerships will be doing a "market adjustment" on the CVO trikes, not sure about the other CVO's though.

Have a great week dudes and dudettes!

That's awesome!!!

I can hardly wait for ours to arrive.

I'm still trying to find out why the handle bars from the P&A catalog fit all '24 later Street Glides, but do NOT fit the same years in CVO models.  I'm looking for 10" or 11" bars.  I'm thinking that 12" will be just a bit too tall and get my hands above the air deflection of the fairing.  The bars on the CVO Street Glide ST are awesome and I know they would fit the CVO SG3L, but at nearly $900, I'm looking elsewhere.

Let me know if you do a change and if so, what did you do and with what.

Thanks, Dan

Dan,

Have you looked at Wild One, 10" Chubby Bars? I don't know about the fitment for the new 2026 CVOs. I had the previous on CVO Road Kings and Street Glides.

I'm familiar with the brand.  I put a set of 10" on my '09 SERG years ago and they were very nice to ride with.  I'll check out their website, for sure!

Thanks, Dan

FYI: Be careful that the bars aren’t over the shoulder height of the rider IF you plan on going to Daytona Bike Week events.

This year, the PO PO are actually towing bikes that have bars that are in violation.

I obviously have no idea if the same safety violation applies in other locals or states.

I think MI has a 15" law for height above the seat.  But, I've seen many above that without any issues.

I'm only looking at a 2" height bump from stock bars, not that high really.  Just enough to be more comfortable cruising.

Thanks again, Dan
