Okay, now it makes perfect sense. A dealer who installs an aftermarket cam/tuner etc on a SE motor or kit should take the responsibility of stepping up when there is a problem with the motor. Harley would most certainly not cover it even if the bike was under warranty time period. Since your bike is 5+ years old and has plenty of miles on it since you had the upgrade done at purchase, the CNA person is getting squirelly. Any way, best of luck. Keep us updated on the fix.
You may be 100% correct and I may be chit out of luck. I don't blame the dealer because I chose the cam. Interesting you mentioned tuner. That was the very first thing the CNA inspector checked was the tuner and making sure it hadn't been modified. Harley came under FTC sanctions a while back. I don't remember how long ago. Because Harley was voiding warranties solely and completely based on an aftermarket part being installed. Even though the aftermarket part was not the culprit of the damage. I am no lawyer by any means. But supposedly the Magnusson-Moss Warranty act of the 1970's dictated that warranty companies must prove an aftermarket part was the cause of said damage to deny a claim.
Also Harley replaced (under original factory warranty) my entire motor 110 ci of my 2015 CVO Streetglide because the umbrella valves failed causing oil to spew out of the breather and scar the cylinder walls. It had an S&S 475 cam in it at the time.
