It seems official, these discontinued models. Here's a copy of a letter from HD to the Dealer for '08 Model Orders. Seems like a legit letter. Hoist! 8)

Cut/copied/pasted/ quoted from Dealer Letter;

April 2, 2007

To: All U.S. Harley-Davidson and Buell Dealers

Subject:2008 Model Year Phase I Online Vehicle Ordering

Dear Dealer:

Your 2008MY Phase I Harley-Davidson and Buell orders will be
available online via the Vehicle Order Management Application on
Wednesday April 11, 2007 and will be due Wednesday, April 25, 2007
by 3:00pm CT (Central Time).

Order Order Type
Phase I Harley-Davidson RG
Phase I Buell BU
Phase I Buell Provisional ST
Phase I VRSC Provisional PV
Phase I Rider's Edge ED
Fall Demo DO

Important! You must submit each order individually from the Order
Status page, including all Provisional orders. If you do not wish to
request Provisional units at this time, simply click the submit
button to send your order to Harley-Davidson without entering any
quantities. Failure to submit these orders will result in an expired
order which may disqualify your dealership from Harley-Davidson
Motor Company programs and promotions.

2008MY Phase I Harley-Davidson

The 2008MY Phase I Harley-Davidson (RG) order has three separate
allocations: BIG TWIN, SPORTSTER and VRSC. These allocations have
been separated into the months of July, August and September based
on current production rates. The 2008MY Phase I allocation is based
on a percentage of your dealership's last twelve months of retail
sales as opposed to an estimated 2008MY Sales Unit Allocation (SUA).
This approach uses the most current retail data to react to market
specific trends.

In this initial Phase your dealership will be ordering 2008MY
carryover models only. New models will be announced at the Summer
Dealer Meeting in July and will be ordered for your dealership by
Harley-Davidson Sales Administration. Orders placed for any new
models will be available for your dealership to view at the SDM. You
will be able to make limited model, color and option changes to your
Phase I orders following the SDM as the model, color and option
change flags on the Vehicle Order Listing on h-dnet.com indicate.

Please use the following chart of Big Twin production mix as a guide
when ordering your vehicles online.

TOURING FAMILY 55%
DYNA FAMILY 14%
SOFTAIL FAMILY 31%

VRSC Allocation Information

The VRSC family allocation process is based on retail need as
opposed to a Turn and Earn quantity. Please refer to the 2007MY
Sales Support Programs for an overview of the VRSC family allocation
plan. The allocation plan has not changed from the 2007MY program.

In Phase I each dealer has been allocated one VRSCDX model. In order
to see what month your VRSCDX is in, you will need to completely
expand the VRSC Family by clicking on the plus sign (+) next to the
VRSC family. You will then see a line for the VRSCDX model. You will
know which month this model is in because the ADD link will be
active. Simply click the ADD link on the line for the VRSCDX model
to place your order for this unit.

Your dealership will be able to submit Provisional (STOC-subject to
order cancellation) orders over and above your VRSC allocation for
all VRSC models including the VRSCDX.

To submit a Provisional request for VRSC product, you must go to the
Provisional Ordering tab. Provisional requests will be filled as
availability permits and based on retail need and are not considered
confirmed until an order number has been issued.

Fall Demo Ordering

For the Fall Demo program your dealership will be able to order a
minimum of 2 units and a maximum of 5 units. Your dealership can
order no more than one demo unit from each model family. Your
dealership will also be able to order one VRSCDX model as a Fall
Demo unit in addition to the one unit you have been allocated in
Phase I. Dealerships with SRLs may order up to 2 additional demo
units for each of their approved SRLs.

2008 Model Year Discontinued Models

As previously communicated in the 2008 model year forecast letter,
the following models will be discontinued in the 2008 model year.
The VRSCR, VRSCX (limited one year offering), XL50 (limited one year
offering), FXSTD, and the FLSTSC. In addition, the FLHRS, FXST,
FXDWG, and the XL883R will also be discontinued in the 2008 model
year.

2008 Model Year Phase I Buell, Buell Provisional, and Rider's Edge
Orders

2008 MY Phase I Buell Buell (BU) order volumes for the XB and Blast
models have been separated into the months of July, August and
September based on current production rates. In this initial Phase
your dealership will be ordering 2008MY carryover models only. Any
new models will be announced at the Summer Dealer Meeting in July
and will be ordered for your dealership by Sales Administration.
Orders placed for any new models will be available for your
dealership to view at the SDM. You will be able to make limited
model, color and option changes to your Phase I orders, as
available, following the SDM. The Phase I allocation methodology was
designed to allow each dealer the opportunity to offer the full
Buell 2008MY product line.

Buell Provisional Orders- STOC (ST) orders will be accepted for both
XB and Blast product and will be filled if production capacity
allows. Please request STOC orders by clicking the Provisional tab
and completing your order.

Rider's Edge Orders- Rider's Edge (ED) orders have been placed in
the forecasted month for dealers that submitted forecasts for
Rider's Edge units. Please contact your Rider's Edge Dealer
Representative with questions on the re-fleeting policy.

Order Entry Assistance Tools

* A district specific retail history report is available on the
sales page of h-dnet.com. It can be found under: Vehicle Order
Management Main Menu/ Vehicle Retail History Reports. Use this tool
to help identify retail trends within your district in terms of
model mix, colors, and options. The intent of this information is to
assist your dealership in aligning your orders with expected future
retail demand.

* A 2008MY Phase Order worksheet is also available in an EXCEL
format on h-dnet.com to assist you in placing your order. It is
located on the Sales page by using this path: Vehicle Order
Management Main Menu/ Vehicle Order Management/ Phase Ordering
Information/ Monthly Dealer Ordering Worksheet.

* If you require additional Vehicle Order Management training
binders or quick reference guides, you can print these materials
from the Sales page of h-dnet.com by using this path: Vehicle Order
Management Main Menu/ Vehicle Order Management/ Vehicle Order
Management Additional Information. Training information is also
available in the application' s "Help" feature.

Please ensure that employees needing access to the Vehicle Order
Management application have been set up by your dealership¡¦s h-
dnet.com Security Administrator. We recommend that each dealership
has more than one person with the security authority to Submit
orders online. This will ensure timely submission of your orders.
All vehicle orders must be submitted from the Order Status screen.
Any orders not submitted by the due date will expire.

IMPORTANT: Dealers who fail to submit their Vehicle Orders by the
April 25, 2007 deadline will receive product as availability
permits, likely at the end of the Phase. Availability of models,
colors, and options may be limited during this later timeframe due
to production capacity constraints.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR VEHICLE ORDER ON TIME TO AVOID THIS SITUATION!

Expired Order Process:

Expired orders will be deleted from the Vehicle Order Management
application while all of the submitted orders are processed by the
production system, assigned factory order numbers and posted to the
Vehicle Order Listing report on h-dnet.com.

After this process has been completed, we will provide any dealers
with expired orders the opportunity to order and submit their
vehicle orders. The orders will be available for entry for a period
of 48 hours. Failure to submit the order by this second deadline
will result in your Vehicle Order being declined and may disqualify
your dealership from Harley-Davidson Motor Company programs and
promotions. Availability at the family/model level will be
restricted and delivery timing for these late vehicle orders will be
limited due to the delayed processing.

For more information, please contact your SPOC Vehicle DSC at 1-800-
664-7762, phone option #3.

Sincerely,

Robert Cline

I hate to see the FLSTSC go, oh well I got mine.   ;D

I wonder if the FXSTSSE will continue into 2008?

I never cared for the Deuce or the re-designed WG.
