Go to the \mp3 folder on your Zumo and delete the files.

When you connect it to your computer, bring up Windows Explorer and go to the Garmin drive on your GPS.  Just be careful not to delete anything you're not sure about.  I think there is an MP3 folder.  The drive letter is probably E:\Garmin depending on how many drives are on your computer.

Rob...I'm not sure about the Zumo, but on the 2820 you have to load in Mass Storage Mode...you should be able to go into the "new" drive that shows on the computer and see all your songs in the Zumo storage after they have been loaded, if it "took".

Terry,

I had to convert the files to MP3. itunes does some MP4 or something or other format so I had it (itunes) convert my playlist to MP3 then loaded it and it worked. I plugged it into my bike, used the car cradle suctioned to my fuel door, plugged in the power from the cradle (as it WILL NOT WORK without power to the unit, plugged her into aux and wa-laa!! She worked............. up until I shut the bike off for fuel, then no sound. MP3 was playing songs as evidenced by the screen but no sound.  ??? I tried unplugging and plugging and shutting the Zumo off and back on and no sound. Haven't tried it since.

Anyone else seen this and if so, any fix. I'm sure it's my fault somehow (as is usually the case).  :drink: :huepfenlol2:

Hate to ask the obvious, but after you shut off then back on, did the HK radio remain on AUX or did it change to something else?  They have a mind of their own sometimes.

Your HK software version should be 8.19 - There was a fix for the sound from the aux port on that upgrade. That may or may not be an issue but you should have the upgrade to be sure.

Mine still wants to go to AUX...it did it before Jim put the extra AUX in on the back of the radio, and it's still doing it whether the GPS is plugged in or not.  Not every time, but most times.  I've got 8.19 too.

Yeah............ :huepfenlol2:  I did check that believe it or not! How do I do the upgrade?

I have another "gadget" problem. I recently rode my RG up to North Carolina and back. I wanted to use my GPS and listen to songs at the same time to reduce gadgets hanging all over the bike  ;)...............

When I plug my GPS into my cig lighter hole on the RG.......... no power. The Cig lighter works fine in it but not the Zumo.

Also, still would like suggestions on the "No sound" issue on my CUSE if anyone knows a fix.

Thanks

Go here for the update to the radio:  http://www.harley-davidson.com/cp/moar/en/overview.asp   Just follow the yellow brick road.

Don't have a clue about the no sound if it's working before you turn the ignition off, then won't when it's back on, unless you have a funky stereo patch cord.  The radio shack versions are not all that good...Sound Professionals on the Web, part number sp-spsc-7 make gold plated, 90 degree ends, that are a true 3.5mm in size.  Order to lenght, 1 meter will get it done.

Check the voltage on your RG cig lighter with a digital meter and make sure it's at least 12V nominal....should be more, actually.  The cig lighter might have some corrosion on the contact, or grounding housing.

Check the fuse for the Zumo and make sure it is good. I think it is actually in the cig plug head. Check your manual for verification.

Hope this helps

John,

I did check the fuse.... well now that you mention it..... I checked it B4 when it wouldn't work on the RG, I have not checked it since. Maybe when I shut it off and said yes to continue on battery it caused a surge or something. I'll check it tomorrow when I get to the office as my bike is at my buddy's shop, we are changing the transmission belt sprocket to a 30 tooth to move the power band and make 6th gear more usable. I did it on my stock RG and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I hope it works as well on the Smurf! I did take some pics and will write up a report after she's all done.

That is the same cord I'm using. Just a word of wisdom learned when installing. It will work, but you have to choose the shortest route when running it if you plan on running it thru the clutch cable hole in the left side of fairing to an opening on the right side of fairing. It took me a couple times running it to find the spot I was comfortable with leaving it at and wasn't stressing the cable or having it rub on sharp edges.

Well I found out why there is no sound............ the thing-a-ma-jiggy inside the cradle came loose and fell inside!! I am going to get a small screww driver from the shop tomorrow and see if it's fixable. Should I fool with it or will Garmin send me a new one? I am concerned that if I take it apart and it doesn't work they will not replace it.
