Mike, that thread will show a 2 bulb option.  If you go that route I think you'll be pleased.  Lots of very good light.

I've had mine both ways now.  Had it set so that high beam projected by itself and so that high and low beam stayed on together during high beam operation.

Both ways are so much better than stock you're not hurt either way.  Ended up leaving it with both on together during high beam operations to fill a small void in the projection that was left in the high beam display.  You can do it either way depending on whether or not you use the little relay that's in the pigtail immediately behind your headlight.

For perhaps at least a differently informed opinion of what these lights do going down the road perhaps Chuck or TC or JR will chime in here.  They all have ridden ahead of the red bike after these lights were installed.

Don't lights are powerful...he was projecting beyond my beam and was several bike lenghts behind me on a really dark road.  That upgrade is on my list, for sure.

It's another one of those "safety things"...that's a good excuse.  It's worked for me several times... ;D

All I can say, is that while riding in front, Don's headlamp was doing a better job illuminating the road ahead of me than my own.

Disclaimer: I need to aim my headlamp, but it still won't be able to compete with the HID option, by a long shot.

That's funny.  I thought it was shooting out just a bit farther.  But it was hard to know for sure.  And that was just the low beam...  :drink:

Don, how do these compare with the MoCo HID's?, assumming you might know, or someone will, I have a chance to get a great deal on the HD ones, but I obviously want  the best light, not the best deal. Im at the point of no return when it comes to spending aditional $$ on my scooter now.

Mike, I never put in the HD HID kit because (no disrespect to those that have used it) I just didn't like it very well.  It is much better light than stock.  But it's damned expensive for what we're getting.

It's a HID light in only one lamp.  And it's a lot more difficult installation.  For about the same money these are a simple install, digital ballasts with lower power draw and heat generation and you'll have HID bulbs in both lights.

I think you'll love them.  Check out Ernie's.  He got the single lamp dual bulb version of the H4 from the same place.

Finally rode my bike in the dark for the first time last Friday, and I'm much more pleased with my lighting setup on this bike than I was on the 06 CUSE.

I have the HD HID headlamp, but replaced the puny 35w high beam bulb with a <blue> 65w H9, (and of course with the HID, low beam stays on with high beam), and replaced the 35w H3s in the passing lamps with <blue> 55w H3, and wired them so they stay on on high beam too. So on high beam, I have a total of 175w blue halogen PLUS whatever the wattage of the HID is.  Oncoming drivers need to be aware of the possibility of retina burn!!  :D

Only thing is I'd like the low beam up a little, and the high beam down a little - but of course they are not independently adjustable.
