Looking good Mike. I still think I like the SS personally. How are you setting them up for shift linkages? Hoist! 8)
I'm working on that now. Ultimately I'd like to be able to reuse the OEM end that every one has. To do this I have to get the holes back to a stud. The prototypes are 5/16-18 (useless) as the industry norm is 5/16-24. Minor I know. If I don't have to supply ends that will keep the cost down a few pennies. SS ends are mid twenties a pair and than add shipping. These are for you guys so tell me what you want.

I noticed these will be about 1 1/2" longer than stock (which I like). This will allow the linkage to sit level when adjusted properly. I run 2" over linkages on my bikes just for this reason.

I'd prefer them fully assembled, with ends, to just bolt on, personally. Hoist! 8)

They're Here!

I received an aluminum and a SS piece. They look great IMO. They are currently raw and I will be hitting the chromer/polisher tomorrow to get some finish pricing. I went ahead and hit the end with the buffing wheel to see how they will clean up. NICE. The SS version was cut from a piece of scrap so it is a little rough surface wise. The final version will be made from good production material.

I asked for a price on Alum, SS and Steel. With a little luck I'll have some final numbers here shortly.
Mike,
those are SWEEEEEET! you come up with great stuff, john

I just got back from the polishers. The decision has been made to polish these as opposed to chrome them. With that said they will be made of SS. Why? The aluminum looks great polished but won't hold the polish long term (Maintenance required). Next was the concern of some of the inside lettering. Due to the soft aluminum he thought the buffer may beat up on the material. Chrome was discussed and we agreed that while the surface would look great the insides of the lettering would only have a nickle coating. Not quite the look I would like. So there it is, SS-polished.

Waiting on a part price still.

I'll have the finished version tapped to accept a 5/16-24 thread. This will make attaching the rod ends simple.

As of now the rod ends I have found are chrome. I'm looking for SS ends as the cone shaped jam nuts I like are SS. Consistency!

It looks like this is actually going to happen.

I'll get a final price shipped-complete and than I'll see how many I need to get for the initial order.

I'd like two please.   :coolblue:

And if only the members of this board are buying them, we will know when we see a CVO bike, that they are one of our sister or brothers.  Like having the key to the clubhouse.

I have some numbers put together so we'll see how it goes from here.

For 1 304 polished stainless steel shift linkage, 2 stainless steel tapered jam nuts, 2 300 series stainless steel male rod ends, shipped to your door the cost will be $200.00.

I will offer a kit in non polished also for those who may want to paint or powder coat for $170.00.

There is a "Econo" kit available also with a aluminum shift linkage and SS ends for $150.00.

I'll be the first to sign up. How about a pic of the fully assembled, polished piece? ::) Get me the price on the 39mm Flush Axle for my Pro Street, and I'll send you a PayPal for both. Thanks a lot Mike! :2vrolijk_21:
