It is two discs riveted together with a layer of silicone between them.  Trust me, I know because I had a new one engraved, then tried to have it chromed, but couldn't.  Two specialty chrome shops tried, and both of them said that they could not chrome it because they could not get a "charge" on it.  In the end, I had it repolished and powdercoated clear.  Attached is a photo of the finished product.   Looks as good as chrome, IMO.

Completely agree Joe.  That's a beautiful wheel.  I'm not a fan of solid wheels for riding on the highway.  But that's a fine looking piece.

I have to get him some length measurements to see if the Eagle's head will fit or not.

I like #1 with the lettering cut out.

I'll see if he can cut a dummy piece so I can see it cut out.

       Would you please post the name of the engraver. I think you posted it before, but I lost it or zoned out and never wrote it down. I have a design I want done in the same manner you had yours done. Polish and clear coat would be fine
