I guess you got a point there, but usually with electronics it's a pretty safe bet it's going to be a step forward.

The Garmin website list the following:

Changes made from version 4.40 to 4.50:

    * Fixed speed camera alerts toggling off and on.
    * Enhanced GPI support.

I'll download when I get home tonight and see how it works, are we still ejecting the SD card before doing the upgrades?

Garmin has added a cruiser as an available vehicle to download...

How to Install:
Download the attachment to your computer
Connect your Garmin GPS device to your computer.
Click Open, if necessary.
Click Extract.
Browse to find the “Garmin/vehicle” folder on the Garmin drive. You may need to create the vehicle folder.
Click on next and file will be downloaded.
When file has finished downlodaidng double-click the Safely Remove Hardware, Unplug, or Eject icon in your system tray. Click Stop on the USB Storage Device (Garmin), and then click OK.
Unplug the USB cable from your Garmin GPS device.

How to change your ride:
On your GPS device, touch Settings.
Select Map.
Select Vehicle.
Choose your favorite vehicle.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but it happened to me again today, so thought I would mention it.  Sorry, but don't have time to look through 40+ pages to check.

This freaked me out when it first happened, as I thought my 550 had died.  After powering down, could not get it to turn back on, no matter which buttons I pushed.  On a whim, I removed the battery pack and reconnected it.  This reset the unit, and it powered back up.  This has happened about a dozen times in the past 14 months, and for no particular reason, and the battery pull always has fixed it.  A couple of times, the reboot button sequence took care of it (pushing the top left and bottom right buttons at the same time), but usually no.

So, I always make sure to carry the allen wrench that fits the battery pack screw.

I don't know that it is only happening to me.  I figured that it was a glitch of the 550, which is why I included it in the Tips/Tricks section.  Thought maybe it would save someone some grief if they knew how to resolve it.

His is not the only one this has happened to. This procedure (removal/reinstall) of the battery is one of the first things that has been mentioned on the Zumo Forum as a remedy for a unit that will not turn on. It repeatedly needing it would concern me though.

Well, that is good to know how to remedy a failure to re-boot, but like you, I'd wonder if it were a on-going problem how to correct it.  I've had mine fail to boot up but it would always correct on it's on when the motorcycle was re-started.  Makes you go....mmmmmmm.  :-\ spyder
