Don't need bluetooth for navigation prompts (they will come thru the speakers). Just make sure the voice you choose is "TTS" (Text To Speech) so it will say the street names.

It will have "TTS" behind it. I'm using "American English-Jill (TTS)". When your Zumo is on press on the "wrench" > "Locale" > and the second item from the top w/the lips to the left will show you what voice you have selected. Make sure the one you have selected has "TTS" beside it.

Firmware update Version 4.10 -

Changes made from version 4.00 to 4.10:
Fixed connection issue with some Bluetooth headsets.

Use WebUpdater to get/install this update. As a precaution you should remove SD card before running update to ensure the update is installed in the unit and not the card.

Hey guys...for those of you not wanting to deal with Mapsource when planning a trip to load to your Zumo...

I was on the Harley Davidson site, and if you are a HOG member...go to the HOG Ride Planner...here's a link.

http://www.harley-davidson.com/wcm/Content/Pages/Ride_Planner/Ride_Planner.jsp?locale=en_US

You can plan a route either using other people's loaded routes, that are recommended for riding, or you can make your own.  It's an easy
planner, and at the upper right hand corner is a GPS Synchronization button.  It loads the routes into our Zumos.  I like it much better than Mapsource.  Good luck, and ride safe!

Interesting observation in Mapsource routes....they take into account Time Zones when estimating the time of the trip...

Home to Joplin:  1488 miles, 21:00:09 Gain 1 hour
Joplin to Home:  1496 miles, 23:05:51 Lose 1 hour

So the nominal time is actually ~22 hours non-stop travel time.

Same basic route except for minor change in MA for the return trip...this accounts for the difference in miles.

I need to pay attention to this!

I got my update free. I believe you are entitled to one free update and you have to use it in a certain time frame our you loosed your chance. I went to my Garmin account and had a message the update was available at no cost. The CD was delivered to my door in 3-days

That is correct (at least it was for me). Those that have bought a Zumo (or any Garmin GPS) that came w/the 2008 map should register w/Garmin. Once you do that you can log in to your account, go to "My Maps" then "Manage Maps" there you will see the updates available and if you are entitled to a free update.
