I was at the dealer yesterday and they had a 2008 Street Glide they'd customized. It was blacked out, had different chrome wheels, painted inner fairing, and a Jims 131. Wow, It was sharp!!!!! A mere $37,000.

Are you like me and never have a camera when you see something like that that you know you need a pic of?  Sounds like some dealers might be getting creative in the downturned marketplace.  Guess you couldn't talk them into a 'test ride'.     har!  spyder

Sounds as if you witnessed capitalism at it's best. This dealer, it would appear, is trying to pick up the ball the MOCO has dropped.

JD & I drove to Birmingham this weekend to see Carlos Santana and The Derek Trucks band with Terry and Suzanne! What a great show! We didn't have a single beer. HA. We got the chance to meet Rider and Tango. If I only had half of their energy, I'd be a gazillionaire. I went into Toby's (The parrot) room and the first thing he said to me is "Don's a prick, Don's a prick".

Trailered the V-Rod down and we're hoping to get a chance to ride over to 29 dreams this afternoon. Right now it's raining and bad, but, we're hoping it will clear off. Terry's trying his best to sell me a new Toyota truck. I will keep leading him on and get as many free beers as possible.

What a beautful place he has. An acre of pristine woods right behind his house. Makes this ole country boy feel right at home.

It's great having Ken and Cheri down here...we had a blast at the concert last night.  Carlos was jamming, and Derek Trucks joined him for a while...two of the best guitar players I've ever seen on stage at the same time...it was unreal.

It cleared off about 1 O'clock today, so we rode out to Dreams and had one of their great cheeseburgers, along with a beer, visited the gift shop, then rode over to the local dealership for a few minutes.  It was good to see/hear the V rod again, and Ken is taking real good care of her.  We've been sitting on the porch the rest of this evening, and ordered in a Pizza for dinner, as we were all tired after last night and didn't feel like getting back out.  Ken and Cheri are some fine folks...salt of the earth.  They are welcome here any time!

Great to read y'all are having such a good time guys.  Sounds wonderful and the concert must have been outstanding.  Must have been nice to have the V-Rod come for a little visit too.  Safe trip home to Kentucky and see all of you at the BBQ (except Toby).

If Toby and 2lane share the camper all night long there would either be a long people-to-bird chat about "pecking" order or the bird would just kick my ass and I'd run out screaming in to the night....

Ken and Cheri left about 45 minutes ago...we already miss them!!  We had coffee and blueberry muffins on the porch this morning and BS'd, played with the dogs, and watched them chase squirrels and birds all over the yard.  They haven't caught one yet, but they keep trying.

Loaded the Vrod on the trailer, everybody hugged everybody, and they're on their way back to Clinton 

What fun we had!!  Just can't say enough good things about Ken and Cheri, and all the rest of the great people we've met from the site.

Stop in at the house any time you're through Birmingham...we've got an extra bedroom and beer, so come on down!!
