The stock HD headsets suck.  J & M appears to be an improvement, with the exception of the intercom feature.  Their shorty antennas sure work great.  Wonder if they will offer a new & improved version, based on feedback?

I can understand the predicament J&M is in, trying to offer their set-ups for all makes and models. The make one version of each set-up and address the different requirements of each system, whether it be an OEM system, or their own. When the new HK radios came out, they didn't change their headsets, but built a new cord with different resistances to match up to the radio.

A headset / microphone combo designed especially for the HK radio might well fix the intercom issue. I think the microphone needs a higher output, or gain. That way, the VOX sensitivity could be set lower, and the output volume setting could be lowered. On my bike, I have the intercom settings, VOX and volume, pretty much maxed out to get it to the 'acceptable' level. If I had a hearing problem, I'd be out of luck.

Do you have a Clearview windshield?  If not the Euro Lip really cuts down on the turbulance.

I've got one on order, probably still five to six weeks out. I'm riding with a stock 12" Electra Glide windshield. The 9" unit that came with the bike was awful for me.

Understand as well, Chief.  Model specifc stuff is extremely limiting and these HK radios are not all that wonderful, IMHO, so who knows what the MoCo will do in future years.  My VOX is toward the higher setting on the stock sets - voice is ok on intercom but music sound quality sucks - bad.

That was the biggest improvement with the J&M headsets - we could actually HEAR the music. With the HD tinny, not tiny, but tinny speakers, we were OK if we knew the song, but if you didn't know it, you couldn't tell what it was.

Same problem we have - it's like playing Name That Tune.

Hey Mike...why don't you guniea pig this one for us?  Bose headset though...cannibalize the speakers.  I'll await your report

That would be slick, noise cancelling headset. Sweeeeeeettttttt!

Not sure what the ohms are for the Bose set - will check to see if its a close match - no promises though.

I have always wanted a helmetless headset. J&M had one in Myrtle Beach that the were using as a test unit so they didn't have to put a helmet on while testing a bike. The Tech wouldn't even let me look at it.
