For performance these motors need a little back pressure Cabo.  You may need to leave the baffles in, to achieve the higher HP and torque......dyno tune will tell them that.

I read in a tech article in the past why the rpm has to be higher on these motors.  I don't remember what the reason, but it seems to me like it was an important reason.  You might want to ask the tuner about that.

Cabo,
What is the stock cam size that you replaced with the se 257.  I also have the Rineharts and from what i hear the stock baffle (2.5") can be replaced with their 2" baffle for 89.00.  The 2" baffle gives it a little more back pressure.  I have the 2.5" in there and fro my dyno work the bike lost torque in the 2500-3200 range then gained it all back and then some from 3400 plus.

i think the bottom line with pipes are look and sound then performance.  Are we that in tuned to notice a 3-4 hp difference??

Here goes Re-tread........

The 2.5 baffle is stock with the pipes.  i have them and made a slight modification to them from input i recieved from a local Hampster that spoke with Gerald Rinehart.  That modification can be explained if you would like.  the 2" baffle is a bit quieter and comes from BuB Ent. for 90 bucks.  I will give you a heads-up.....taking off the billet end-cap is like sticking your penis in a fan.  There's a trick to it, it does come off though.  did i answer your question??

i re-read your post............

1) Apparantly from dyno testing the 2" baffles create more torque.  Less reversion maybe..

2) you install them.    And hopefully you find a shop that is first-rate when race tuning Rineharts( their tough)

Thanks SERK 103,
Appreciate the feedback - I'm  going to give the Reinharts a try with the 2" baffle. Actually, I thought the Reinhart pipes was alittle too loud anyway, so that's a gift for ME! Anyway, my dealer here in FL doesn't have a dyno, so I might make a trip to Daytona there a few places there that have the equipment, but from all I have heard, no one is really a pro at dialing these mod's in yet.

I had the PCIIIR on my 03 RKC and constanly had the check engine light trip ( Crankshaft Position Sensor).  Local dealer would not reset since it was not a Harley part.  Just picked up my 04 Electra Glide on Saturday and put the Race Tuner on to avoid the warranty issue and it is suppose to be better.  Will tell after break in and dyno.

Had the same problem on my 02 road king seems the extra resistance from the second plug was the problem in my case.  They replaced the sensor 3 times and the power commander 2 time.  then gave me the race tuner problem solved. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Finnally got clear roads to get some data collected with the race tuner(which is really cool), as i stated my bike backfired pretty bad on decelleration or in between shifts, found out it was only when throttle position was at 0% and between 2000 and 3000rpm. From what i fiqured out the easiest fix was to put higher VE numbers in the fuel map for that throttle position and rpm. I increased the air flow numbers by 5% for those cells took it for a ride and it was perfect. [smiley=7.gif]
