This is disappointing.  Met a buddy for a Friday night Waffle House 1:00 AM adventure and finished his ride home only to find out this thread went nowhere.  Sad, sad; so very sad.

Bunch of old farts; went to bed Don.

Roger
Seriously, from an Ultra Classic look viewpoint what do you think of this part ?  I mean isn't the whole idea of a UC basically a " dresser " ?

The bolts are the ugly part stock and I really like the Bad As Hell solution that I used to solve that.  I think without other solutions the HD one would have been good but it isn't for me B B.

I am toying with a flush mount axle but still think the BAH solution cleans it up enough for me.  You get a symetric look with the other side,  the flush mount axle really cleans it up too. IMO

One of those things where impressions will vary from user to user.  The evenly symmetrical part I would like.  I don't care for, however, that it's a squared off look.  For me to really like those items you pictured the bottom segments would be contoured somehow.  Made to flow a bit more with an oval or angled shape somehow.  When everything else flows from from to back have square-ish humps on the bottom of the legs is a visual speed bump.

I think its low enough you don't notice it as much as in the pic from ground level and I would agree a sculpted look would be nicer, I do believe they are a bit limited by the two bolt mounting system.  Also, for way under $100 the BAH solution is pretty straightforward and simply to install.

Until someone comes up with the sculpted solution I'll be happy with my BAH bolt on.  Besides, I'm mostly done fussin' with all this chit for the summer and looking forward to riding, as evidently many here are based on the dropping daily post count of the group.  Oh, never mind, I forgot Howie is on the road which mostly accounts for the drop ::)

Just to make you laugh Roger, I've got a brand new Adjure flush axle for LD sittin on the shelf in the garage. I already have one on Elvis, buy I'M toying with the idea of this new H-D part for LD, because LD is a dresser, a cool dresser, but a dresser nonetheless.

Well I picked one of these up. Opened the box at the stealer before I bought it and checked it out. I was expecting tin, it's a cast part with nice chrome. Has some rubber pieces that fit around he ends of the axle and into a socket on the inside of the outside section of the part. IMHO it really cleans up the whole lower leg. I need to find the stock axle spacers as it won't work with the 1/2 round ones I've got on the bike. No big deal, just a little more time. I am very pleased with this part.

Which one are you describing Brian?  The BAH piece or the new HD branded part that covers the ends?

The H-D part that covers the entire end of the lower fork slider. It's well made and fits good.

I like it  :2vrolijk_21:
