Today's progress roport: NONE! That's right, 0 progress! Not even on the lift yet! Yeah right, I'll get it back on Friday! ::) I guess I better cancel this weekend's tuning appointment! :o Damn! >:( Here we go again! ;) Hoist! 8)

Did they offer a reason why?  If so, was it legitimate?  Or did they just blow it off for a day?

Typical routine. Schedule more work than you can take on, and the work backs up accordingly. I stressed the fact that we've had this setup for weeks and he should'a been working on it yesterday. I told them that it shouldn't be more than 8 hours work and that he can get it back to me Fri, if they start first thing this morning and stay on it. But you know these guys. No sense of urgency whatsoever. So we shall see! ;) Hoist! 8)

I started to write "unbelievable" or "unreal."  But such would not be true.  Instead "arrogant," "cavalier," and "dumbasses" come to mind and are more accurate.

Unfortunately Hoist this seem to be the norm and not the exception.  Appointments are just guidelines not commitments.

I just found out that one of my old buddies that I haven't seen in awhile, is the SM at another dealer. He's due in later this afternoon and I might just be taking my bike elsewhere, since they haven't touched it yet. When I talk to him later, I'll know more. If I scheduled to fix a guys Air Conditioning and then fixed it a week later instead, I'd be out of business. These HD dealers have got it way too easy. If they only knew what real competition was like, they'd be a lot more responsive and purposeful!!! ;) Hoist! 8)

Just having the bike actually worked on and not sitting around waiting would be a step forward.  I too get frustrated but I know the dealers have a tough time in that service work is so seasonal.  Winter time and everyone is twiddling their thumbs.  Warm weather and everyone locally wants it now and many folks passing through that need service.  Wish I had an answer.  It is a *itch.

If you could open an Authorized HD Service Center, able to do warranty work, etc...then, some of the dealers might wake up and run things more efficiently.  Otherwise, they got us by the short hairs for warranty work.  It's like Ma Bell used to be..."We don't care, we don't have to".

We won't see HD allowing service centers to open in direct competition with these high dollar stores they are forcing dealers to open in my lifetime.

It's the most ineffecient thing though...bring bike in to have warranty item checked...wait three days for tech to look at screw holding heat shield on bike (can't find screw anywhere else, and it comes with the new heat shield)...no heat shield in stock...bike gets parked over among 40 others...part gets ordered the next day, maybe...wait 5 days for a 60 dollar part to come in...wait two more days to get bike on lift...20 minutes to put on new heat shield...get a call bike is ready two days later.


Oh...we forgot to check that other thing you told us about...it'll be a week before we can get to that...

I see this is a nationwide epidemic!  New shop opened up in town. Here's it's charter.

Our national repair service centers are dedicated to the proper care, maintenance and modifications to CVO HD's. It's been established for all those of you that care so much about your cherished CVO bikes, and know enough to do something about it. We do the job when it's promised and always do it right the first time. You can be assured that your bike was fully gone over by our trained CVO experts, insuring the very best possible service. We care about your rides as much as you guys do and will treat your bikes as if they were our own. We might not be the cheapest, but guaranty you that we are the absolute very best, and exist for you, our customer. We can perform any modification you want, get your bike running perfectly, have no problem maintaining your 2-Year W.....ty, and get it back to you clean and on time.
