Picking up Red 07 SERK on Sat!

The FLSTFSE was a great bike, but I needed some storage and a better two up scooter.... so... I found an 07 SERK, red at my local dealership. They actually really stepped up to the plate on the trade  - -very fair.

A couple questions - What exhaust to use? Seems like the Rinehart 2-1 pipe and the Rinehart true duals are the hot set up. SERT?

I plan on breaking in first, then doing exhaust and SERT. Any other recommendations?

Looking forward to a long relationship with this bike. My second HD was a 95 Roadking that I loved. I have been bike bouncing ever since.

You have made a wise choice on both bike and color.

I went with the true duals, over the 2-1's that my dealer recommended.  That was a personal choice of look over performance.  As other recommendations, I would go with a high flow A/C while your doing the pipes and SERT.  K&N or big sucker will work.

We'll expect to see some pictures next week.   :worthless:

I had the A/F ratio fattened up before riding it at all, maybe it helped with the high temperature issues these 110's have.  I run the RH 2-1 with sert.  It runs good and we still have not determined the metal temp issue or pinion run-out. 

I just replaced the oem rear shocks with Progressive 440's and added a ride-str8 swingarm stabilizer and it made a huge difference on how the bike feelsand it does handle better.  I'll be doing the traxxion front cartridges soon too.

Congrats on the new scoot :cherry:

Exhaust is a persona choice; sound, looks, and performance all play a roll. 2-1 or true duals  :confused5: Tough debate but it all boils down to the looks that you prefer a good quality exhaust in either flavor perform similiarly. There are also the 2-1's with a falsey like the D&D or the Thunder header to consider.

We should create a poll and take bets on what pecentage of posts contain a reference to Hoist / Howie. I think we would be alarmed, him too, at the sheer volume of posts where he is mentioned.

You can argue, but it won't do much good. You probably can't get a word in! ::) I'll test ride anyone's SERK. If it can't pass the Hoist test, you don't want to keep it anyway! :o As far as impacting the site, I hope it's perceived as a positive one. My intentions are to help, learn and have fun. And if that's not your perceptions, well you already know what they say about opinions. ;) Hoist! 8)

Still waiting on mine - called in at the local Dealers today and a Razor Red had just arrived. Have they stopped building the Candy Cobalt ones ? Not one has been delivered for 6 months.
