CHIT CHIT CHIT CHIT CHIT CHIT!!!!!!!!!!!11 >:( >:( >:( >:(
If any of you have been following the Posse Ride topic, you might have seen Jerry (Ultrafx) who had his rear jug and gasket replaced the week he left, has just noticed it is leaking again. He got 6K out of the new one.
Looks like MoCo has not got a clue as to a fix.
I am now really thinking I need to just go by dealer to cancel my deposit and wait for some better news. >:( :nixweiss:

Probably not a bad idea if you still love your banana....

I'd be more worried about that fy-by-wire crap than the 110 engine. :nixweiss: The engine can be fixed properly, and setup to run great! ;) Hoist! 8)

Was speaking with Howie earlier today and told him about the first fly by wire failure I'd heard of.  Couple of guys at the local dealership this morning discussing a bike that belonged to one of them.  Bike wouldn't come off 2k RPM.

AJ did the dealer replace your Juggs yet and the headgasket with the new ones at the same time?

Yes Harry, the rear jug was replaced as well as both front & rear gaskets.

Hey AJ,

Just replaced my rear jug, lifted heads front and rear, all new gaskets, O rings, new piston rings front and back. Warranty on all.   Found oil leak before, and when lifting off cylinder, a lot of oil pooled. Oil found its way down cyclinder studs. Filled compression cylinder under piston, and reduces power. Hope this fixes it, but don't hold high hopes.  Some experts say gasket design is flawed, the old, and the new ones. Takes a long time to get a true fix. Oil leaking out the rear of the rear head gasket, means a LOT of oil already found its way on the inside first.   Let me know how yours is holding up over time, and I will do same.  In the meantime, I did notice more power, makes sense since all that oil is off the chamber.

Ron

Hey Ronnie,

I'm confused about what you are refering to. Can you help me out here? Thanks.

I have posted a picture of my 07 CVO 110 ultra Delivered in late June, 4149 miles. it has been at the dealer 5 times for electrical problems. This time we have two blown head gaskets and the transmission is out for an inspection for clattering in neutral with the clutch out. I hope to have it back Tuesday. The dealer is trying but I think they are beating a dead iron horse.

That really sucks, I'd give them this last try and on the next issue, I'd tell them to replace the bike. Must be a Monday bike. Does your state have a lemon law?

I am sure we do. The motor company rep will be here on the 21st and i expect to have either a long or a very short talk with him about this high dollar touring bike. I really don't want to spend my time touring from dealer to dealer.

Does anyone have experience with the motor company in dealing with lemon law claims?

Pat,

It is best you look up the lemon law for your state and find out how it works and if there are charge backs to you for mileage / age / use.

I am so hoping the new rear jugg and gaskets as a combination will fix this issue.   This is the 3rd official replacement of the gasket, but the 4th real time as when I had the front leak I had them do the rear as well on my dime to put new rings in since the fronts were so messed up.

I only have 200 miles on it, so I guess wait and see is the best I can hope for.

is this fix working for you? i having the same work done, plus getting some cams installed (575) by dealer. had to be rentlentless to get warranty for my seeping at the rear base. which was always there since the first time i had head gasket problem. any revisions of the parts?

TN

are there any 110's that hasn't had the head gasket problem?

Hey TN, I don't wanna jinx him, but Rich07's bike is running fine, and has no problems yet whatsoever! But most people w/over 4000 miles are having it. I hear HD's quietly behind the scenes, working on it now, and know this is an issue! Maybe finally they'll own up to the defect and fix them once and for all. I'm hoping my fix took care of mine. Time will tell, I guess! ;)

Did they say what was causing the seeping?  It would seem with all the people having this issue that it is  more like you have oil blowing by the gasket and down into the stud holes and you just don't know it is a true leak as it hasn't become bad enough that it is a puddle.   Mine was "weeping" then seeping then full on puddles.   Glad they replaced the gaskets for you just sad you had to fight them over it when it has become common knowledge.   I believe only one person that has had the juggs replaced has had a recurrence of the leaking.   Hopefully with the decking / shaving of the heads combined with the cometic 3 part gasket, Howie wont have a recurrence of the issue.   In either case I would be thrilled if that is actually the only fix needed to stop this from happening again.

Howie hurry up and get 5k miles we need you to be the sacrificial lamb.
