And last, a shot of the left side, the whole bike sitting squarely again. Both the front and rear were raised 1" back up to standard Road King height for better clearance and lean angle! ;)

Little battles man; at least they're mounted.  When the evening cools off a bit go play with them and begin chasing all the adjustments.  Can't wait to hear what you think of both how they ride and how they adjust.

I'm going to take a good stab at it adjusting them staticly in the garage, before I take it out for a test. I'll put the bags on and run around. They take 2 seconds to pop off. After I feel good on them, I'll ride it tonight that way. Then tomorrow, I'll get Binx and load some luggage on, and see what changes I need to make when doing 2-up trips. By the end of the weekend, I should have them where they need to be, hopefully! ::) ;)

I just took a bunch of preload out of them. I have the compression adjustment under the reservoir at the softest, and the extension collar adjustment set to 3. It's still pretty stiff, but it's moving up and down now, and I have some sag when I sit on it. I might try letting out some more preload and see how that interacts with the compression adjustment. With 3 separate settings, this will take some playing around. ;)

Alright you homo's! This Thread is about Performance Shocks! ;D

Well, I finally got done playing around with the shocks. I got nervous because I had to keep loosening the Preload Spring Collar until there was almost no adjustment left for the correct Preload for solo riding. But I have about 2 full turns left and I got them really good now. I have the Extension set at 3 and the Compression set 3 clicks up from the Softest Setting. Man, this thing rides like no other Harley I've ever been on. These shocks did to the rear, what the Traxxion AK-20 Cartridge Fork Conversion did to the front. Together, the bike rides like a dream. It soaks up bumps like they're not there. Typical expansion joints around here make you brace yourself and get up off the seat and on the floorbards. Not anymore! Like I was on a flat surface. I'm amazed how well these shocks feel.

I told y'all you were nuts if you don't do the AK-20 Conversion. Well, you're even more nuts if you don't do the Bi Tubo's too! Now it's a real performance motorcycle. It rides and handles like a dream. Forget those stupid vibration hubs! They don't do anything but hide the problem. The problem being, the suspension SUCKS on a stock bike! Period! Get a real suspension and ride comfortyably, with confidence! No vibration! No wobble! No numb hands! And handle like a Sport Bike! You think you spent a lot of money on a motorcycle, so it doesn't need anything. WRONG!!! It needs plenty. It's just that most of you don't know how much better it can get! Pay close attention to this! You won't believe the difference! ;)

Glad to hear you got the shocks dialed in, Howie.  You will probably find that you will play with them a bit more to get them just where you want them, but happy you are pleased with the initial impressions.  I only have the V to compare to, but the Bitubo's are without a doubt the most responsive shock I've felt on a bike, and that includes the Showa system that came on the Ducati!!  You hit the nail on the head when you said that things you used to brace yourself for now just get soaked up like they are not even there.  Most folks don't want to spend the money on suspension, but they just don't know what they are missing...makes it an entirely different bike, IMO.  Glad you like them, bro... :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

Absolutely miker. It made everything better. The seat, any vibration, smoothness. You name what's wrong on and FL and this suspension, front and rear, will cure it! ;)
