As I get older I seem to get wiser, you have a head start on me.

(modified) I think

Not sure.  I'm 46.  But the voices are almost that old too.  Everyone else seems to not get their voices until later.  Mine have always been bouncing around up there.

Well I've had the voices longer but I believe you've actually started to listen to them earlier than me. Always a pleasure reading your responces Don.

What happened to this thread? Has anyone installed these heaters and if so, any results to report?

I and several other members have them from a Group Buy initiated by 2lane.   I am very happy with mine.  They heat the stock grips quite well.  Install is not hard but takes a little time.  I have had mine since October 07, no one knows how long they will last but were originally designed for snowmobiles.  Kuryakyn now sells them too (put their part # on the same Heat Demons).

I don't remember anyone from that original group that has had a failure this winter (knock on digital wood).  So far so good.

Chrome is already an available option.  Alternative switching isn't anywhere on their website.  But I'll ask.

They now have 2 and 4 zone controllers with 5 heat settings.

Heat Demons does?  That might be nice to tie in to a seat control.

Sounds good, I'll start looking around at the options.  The only problem I have is that space is at a premium.  The MP3 player is flush against the right hand grip and my Garmin GPS mount is flush to the left handgrip.  I'll need to find a different way for mounting the GPS......

The switch replaces your clutch or brake clamp, so does not potrude but just a little bit.  For the GPS mount, have you looked at the Techmount? You can place it almost anywhere on the bar that is straight.  It won't go down past the clutch or brake reservoir, so the Heat Demon switch is no problem.

How are your MP3 and GPS currently mounted?  Unless those mounts take the place of your clamps, I don't understand how they can be flush with the grips because of the reservoirs... :nixweiss:

Exactly what I was thinking
Bars, seat, clothes etc.

Not very pretty yet, but it could be just around the corner

Having the Gerbing stuff, the seat and the bars all controlled at one thumb would be slick.  It's not that any of it is really inconvenient to manage now.  But a nice combined control would mean that you could lose everything all at once on some cold day hundreds of miles from home due to a single failure rather than just one piece of it  .

But, it could eliminate drilling holes in your fairing to bury the controllers.

Still looking for better looking control knobs, chrome of course

Hey Duane, don't worry about them as long as that XM antenna is sitting up there....no one will notice 'em.  :o har!  :huepfenlol2: spyder
