I used to dragrace topgas Kawasaki's years ago, well I was doing a test-n-tune at my local track(edgewater) a couple of weeks before I was to leave for the finals in Memphis. I shifted into second gear, the nitrous was activated through the onboard controller and KABOOM, the crankshaft broke, the end porkchop actually exited the bottom of the case hit the ground and bounced up and hit me in the knee. Got the bike back to the trailer and was icing my knee when a friend of mine was surveying the damage to the motor, he tells me you better come look at this. When the motor blew I thought it probably took out the cases and maybe the trans, well I go over and look at what he's talking about and I see the cylinder head (mega $$$) is raised on the one side. To make a long story short after I pulled the motor from the frame and put it on the floor, I took a pair of dikes and cut the copper head gasket and the motor was split dead down the center into two pieces. Fast forward two weeks, I replaced the bullet went to Memphis and won the race. I had taken the broken motor and set it out in my pit area for people to see and a couple of them had said it looked like you took a hacksaw and cut that motor in two. The track announcer got wind of this and the rest is history.
