Hi, screem. The charcoal and black fltrsei2 has been good all spring since the power commander and 15,000 mile updates were done. More power was added, but idle and throttle shut down issues now exist. I have not had much time to ride here in wisconsin. Glad to talk to a road glide owner only, without pictures of other bikes and their dog, cat, wife, camaro, sportster. Have fun........RANDY

...Screem, been riding. It was tough to put miles on it at first because of the accident, but I'm over it. The backrest has been great on those busted up ribs in my back. Have to put off long runs for now, although Canada was tempting. I'm looking forward to a weekend trip in Mexico- TJ, Puerto Nuevo, Encenada, Tecate. The coast route is well maintained and beautiful, and of course the food, drinks and great places to stay ! I got some legs on the ambient temperature gauge, but there just aren't any issues with the 95's. It's been over a hundred here the last few days and the rear cylinder is still there and not glowing in the dark when I get it home. I've left the lowers on and it seems enough air circulates to just leave it alone. Let me know if I'm wrong though.

Randy, I tried the power commander on my 01 SERG but no real improvements. I just finished switching to Delphi FI. Wow, what a difference! Bike really runs like a 95" now.  :apple:

screem,

Did it myself. My local HD shop did the 1550 stage II download. I got the Delphi system on Ebay. It was a complete system off of a wrecked 03 soft tail.  Also had to replace the fuel pump assy as the pressure and lines are different; Ebay again. Bought a new coil and mount from HD. Had to convert the wiring harness. The rest was pretty simple bolt on.  Total cost for my conversion was $1200. Agressive searching on Ebay saved me a TON of money. :pineapple:

Now have a great running 01 SERG!! I wasn't looking for huge power gains, just a more consistent running motor. Just returned from a trip into the Sierras; averaged 40 mpg and the bike ran great.

Hi, Screem. I have never heard of the delphi system. HD (hundred dollars and more) told me that the 01 could only use the commander. It cost too much than the power gain, but it is nice to have a harley that can get out of it's own way. I also pull a cargo trailer. My bike will kill my brothers fltrsei2. Have fun.....RANDY

Randy,

The Delphi system is what HD is using as their FI system. They started using it on the touring models in 2002 after dumping the M&M system. It is not an add-on, it is the FI system. Much more reliable and stable. And with the Delphi system you have the choice of many after-market tuning solutions. ::)

carb conversion was 400 beans using all harley parts.(ebay of course)..real consistant idle control and reliable..no downloads ,all air and fuel,,nothing a jet or 2 could'nt fix...30,000 on her since conversion,,crossed country a few times 42-43 mpg ...even todays delphi system has limited control compaired to a car .....just enough too call it efi........i think i rode like 8,000 miles b/4 puttn on the carb,,,the m&m system I really didnt care for..been riding for 20 years so i had alot rideing tome to compare it too....just my 2 cent....ride-on headpan

Hi, guys. I don't think I would go to a carb convert. The bike runs good enough now. I saw a 07 eagle electra at the dealer in a northern town with a 110 motor, but could not eat the 35,000 price tag. I have gotten a few actual front wheel lifts on the 01 eagle that really surprised me. Is all of your cd players still working? Have fun......RANDY

Randy,

My CD player lost the left channel so I pulled it. Once out of the bike, I found the sillicon mounts were a pile of goo in the bottom. I have XM, so not that much of a loss.

Hi, George. How did you adapt the xm to your hd system? The only other item I have is a ipod player that I use for the lawn tractor. It will adapt to house players, but only uses a transmitter for fm reception for mobile vehicles. I cannot use that on my bike.....RANDY
