Fire00d - thanks, I recently lived in your neck of the woods - Woodbridge, VA, use to do the commute crawl into DC each day before I retired from the Coast Guard.

Hey Bagger,

The scoot looks great!

When you were commuting before retirement were you located over on telegraph road at the coast guard installation there?  There was a black roadking there in the parking lot behind the building where the IT people are, just curious if it might have been one in the same bike there.

Nice ride!  Obviously you like the handlebars.....do you think its easier to control with the hand postition?  What I mean is, with your hands turned like that.  I think I'm going to get a more straight  T-Bar for my Dyna, as I don't really like the way my hands sit on the Mini-Apes.

Awsome ride...seats look really comfy, too!

Wasn't me - I worked at Coast Guard HQ downtown DC.

HD changed the bars from my DWG2 to the DWG3, I like the look of a straighter bar but the geometry gets screwed up on the Dyna with them IMO and makes it a stretch on slow 90 degree turns from a stop, left or right your outside arm (left arm on a right turn etc) just isn't long enough without changing riding position.  The DWG3 bar that comes back a bit more works much better.

If you could try out the bars you are considering before the change I think you would be well advised.

Bagger - are your bars Wild Ones?  They look similar from your pics to the ones I have on my RK.  Will give you a call later - if you are around Friday maybe we could meet for lunch/coffee.

They are Wild 1 Chubby 508s.  For touring they are very comfortable on long road trips.  They are particularly made for riders of average height and under. They are 32.5" Wide with a 16.0" Pullback - no stretching, no neck and shoulder aches from leaning to reach the bars.  However, with the 508s, low speed turning such as U-turns, tight parking spaces tales more efforts than with a a straight bar.

I will be installing Wild 1 W0560 drag bars.  http://www.wild1inc.com/orderWO560.html
WO560 CHUBBY® Low Profile Drag Bar - 4" Rise, 30-½" wide, 8-½" center, 14-½" pullback.

If your shopping for handlebars, here's a site worth checking out and they have many pics of bikes with each style of handlebar.
