We're getting your damn weather by this afternoon! Not tuning weather. Bit by the weather again! :nixweiss:

Hoist! 8)

Volumetric eff will suffer in high humidity...My gas turbines at work don't pump so well either but whaddya gonna do?  I do two eff test a year on them, one in the winter and one in the summer....

Maybe thats why the serglide has been stuffy all summer, it was tuned in April when humidity is only about 65%.
OCD on mapping issues?  Oh no!

Well, this is where I chime in....in Florida, if we ever saw 65% humidity it would be nice. Therefore, no bike in Florida can ever be tuned according to Howies Tuner.  Unless of course.......here it comes.......you have a TMAX on it to adjust all ambient effects...

Needless to say, power will be down in summer, but the only way temperature and density altitude can be overcome, is with a turbocharger.  Other than that, tuners tune for best power on that particular day. So, high humidity and temp will affect power, but not rideability with tuning. There is a difference.  If you are going for that magic dyno number, wait for winter. Comprende? But it should not make a difference across the rideability and tuning board.

Ronnie, it was 65% at 7 AM. He's expecting 100% humidity all weekend, according to the weather. If it stayed 65% it wouldn't have been a problem. He cancelled 6 dynotunes for today and thru the weekend. I'm not looking for the magic dyno number. We just want decent conditions to tune in. His dyno is in an unconditioned room. I'll wait for the better weather! ;)

I was thinking if he quit talking there wouldn't be as much hot air!

But I think there's a better chance with a dehumidifier than for him to stop talking! :nixweiss:

Chip, I believe that you have a better chance of dethroning ole Hubbard on one of your scooters than that happening :coolblue:

And we know that there is only one Hoist :huepfenlol2:

And one is enough!
A man that loves to twist the throttle.
Many want to talk about it but very few do it.
You and Hoist know how to do it!

Hoist, interested in hearing the results on the Standard Quiet baffle tune and if you have to change the Throttle Body to get the best performance from them.  Keep us informed with the differences.

Just looked at NOAA for upstate and saw a 90% humidity report.  So guessing it really didn't happen this weekend.

Got a backup plan yet?  Many of us are living vacariously through your good running engine.

Arrrhhh! Can't take all this pressure! :nixweiss: ;D

Didn't happen this weekend. Good thing I didn't bother. The air is brutal this weekend. Even breathing is diffficult! Haven't even tested the shocks out yet! This is supposed to break on Mon. I plan to ride up Mon nite and get it done on Tues. Then come home Tues nite and drop it off to finish the other stuff on Wed. I promised the full report when I'm done! :2vrolijk_21:

And yeap, that what this is all for! Twisting the throttle! Not to be the fastest at it. But to be able to Rock-N-Roll with it the way I want to. My way! And do it with a smile on my face! And have it last many miles too! ;)

hoist, since i joined only a few days ago (or weeks maybe) could you post your build for us again. i too am curious to see what changes in the dyno curve when you go from standard to quiet, and maybe TB changes also.

thanks

BTW, when reffering to loes, would that be joes cycle repair and tuning center? the guy that does all the tuning for hillsides EFI builds?

I plan a full build report with pics and dyno charts when I'm done. That day seems to keep getting pushed out. BUT IT WILL BE DONE THIS WEEK! (I hope!)

And yes, Joe's Cycle Repair in Mechanicville, NY. He does Scot''s tuning from Hillside. He works closely with R&R, does work for Performance HD in Syracuse. People come from all over the country to have him tune. He's got a rep as being one of the tops in the country! You want your bike to run its best, you travel and find the best! ;)

Oh baby! I think I nailed this thing! It runs sooooooo good! You keep this thing around 3 grand and twist it anytime you want! She just winds up and pulls! I think I'm gonna miss the Performance Mufflers too. They sound really great this loud. And that stroker growl when you back off....WOW! Splitting lanes takes one wick of the throttle to move everyone out of your way! But I can't keep it this loud. It's too much on trips. Too bad. I love this chit!

Oil temp got to 226 after an hour of 80 deg weather. The bike runs great. Idle, roll on, pulling every gear to 5 grand. It don't matter. It loves to ride anyway you want to! I'm getting really close now. I hope the Quiet Muffler lets me smile as much when I ride it now.

And these shocks are unreal. They go perfect with the Traxxion AK-20 Cartridge Fork Conversion! You barely know your riding on a motorcycle and the bike points perfectly whereever you put it. Even with the loose neck bearings!

It's getting really close now. Quiet Muffler and Final Tuning on Tuesday. PM Calipers, Performance mounts and stabilizers, Stabos, adjust neck bearings, and 12.5" W1 Chubby's on Wed. Then just wait on the Hard Bags to get here. Man this is turning into one perfect SERK!

Stay tuned for the Full Report in the SERK Section soon! ;)
