Yeah man! That chit was on the block of my office! We're on the 41st Fl. and it shook our building, at the other end of the block. It was felt all the way up there. People were panicing like it was 9/11 again. Our building was in the "Frozen Zone" and closed for 2 days after, before we were allowed back in. Never a dull moment around here! ;)

Thanks Chuck. Joe's thinking exactly. I hope everyone's right about that. If they are, it'll be running today. I really wanted to be there for it's maiden startup! :( He'll heat cycle it and probably have about 100 dyno miles on it when I get back up there next weekend.

I guess you should Don. Trailered it for nothing! The Tech isn't gonna be too happy about this. And neither am I! I could've ridden that thing up there on Sat!. The Spark Plug wires were reveresed. These FI bikes have a single fire ignition, not dual fire like the carb bikes. I didn't know that! That's all it was! I heard it running 5 minutes ago! They're gonna heat cycle it and get a map in. Next weekend is break-in time again! :2vrolijk_21:

Gee, brings back memories. Had the EXACT same problem when I put mine back together after doing all the bolts and stuff. Felt kind of stoopid when I figured it out. I guess that's why there are labels on the coil, Front and Rear.

Good job. At least its running now.

Sounds like just another CF in the series of them.  At least it was simple and now it is running.  Now you can simply look forward to next week's break in.

I'm glad it was simple too. But it cost me $40 in trailer rental, $60 for the ball and elec. adapter, $70 in gas, and I could've ridden it up there and put the break-in miles on as well! So that part  doesn't thrill me! >:( I'm happy it was so simple, but a little too simple to have to have gone through that. It is what it is. As long as it's right, it's just another blip in this whole painstaking process. I'm actually enjoying it somehow. Being so involved in it, to make sure it gets done right, will definitely payoff eventually. And I'll know so much more about my bike in the process! ;)

I did not realize the plug wires could be swapped!!!  That's enough to piss of the pope I tell ya! Best of Luck Howie, I should be posting pics of the bags soon, they are in clear coating today...they looked real nice except the painter wanted to re-stripe the blue, it got to dark when he candied the green on  :-)

Howie, that's ok man.  The dealership wasn't charging you for the time to try to track it down.  It was an honest mistake on their part and way too easy to do and not catch.  No harm and no real foul.  And, most importantly, it was simple.  Simple problems are always the best man. 

Glad that's all it was.  Hate that it cost you a night's worry.  But damn glad it was just a little stupid chit.  No big deal stupid chit is lot better than many many many other alternatives  :2vrolijk_21: .

I fully agree Don. But since it was so simple, I would've liked to have ridden around up there and clocked some miles on it. But now, the fresh top end gets a custom map before riding it. So maybe it worked out for the best. Plus, the new FatCats aren't shipping yet. If they come in by the weekend, he'll have the pipes to play with too now, instead of going back up for them. I'm just dying to get it back and enjoy it for awhile!

Today's Update:

My tuner called. He's had the bike for 3 days. He has about 150 dyno miles on it now. He mapped it to 4500 for break-in. So far I'm pleased with the results. 127Tq and 118HP. That's only to 4500 RPM, with the S&S Tuned Runner Induction and my V&H/S&S Exhaust. The FatCats should bring it up even more, as well as being able to tune it to 6200 RPM! I'm going up this weekend to put miles on it and leave it again next week for final tuning. So far I'm OK with my science project. But riding it will really tell me how it feels! :2vrolijk_21:
