I'm betting if you get her project just they way she wants it in return you'll have a lot of leverage to get what you want. Who knows if there is something coming out in a couple of weeks you really like then taking care of her should get you a "free pass".

Oooops, phone rang while typing.  Mom.  No more fun for awhile.  She's had a wicked case of the flu (that I'm sure isn't the flu) for a few days now.  But she wouldn't give in and go to see Dr.  Now she's giving in.  She didn't know we were off to the ER tomorrow anyway if she'd not given in beforehand.  But now we're doing it tonight.
