New Orleans <--> Milwaukee
« on: July 04, 2007, 12:01:23 PM »

Just thought I'd post a note about my solo ride from New Orleans to Milwaukee & back. Roundtrip = 6 days.

My '07 SEUC has about 2300mi right now, so this trip will about double the mileage.

Leaving tommorrow, back by Tuesday (or so).
I'm hopin' she runs perfect the entire trip as I have no time for any problems.

The Zippers TMAT better be able to handle this after reading all the other issues.
Its been good to me so far....

Hey Bayou yhay sounds great. I guess you will be following a similar path to the one we will take next year after we leave New Orleans heading for Memphis and then Milwaukee. I'll be interested to hear of any special places you intend to visit or places you happen on while completing your trip.

Hope it all goes well.

Keep da knees in da breeze.

This 6 day trip went well.

Day 1- rain 3-4 hrs thru Mississippi & Arkansas.
Day 2- bored, 300mi of Illinois flat-land.
Day 3+4- Worked with the bands I was contracted to at Summerfest. Milwaukee had record-setting high temps (95-97).
Day 5- humid while being followed by dangerous thunderstorms, then rain.
Day 6- on & off rain mixed with warm & humid temps.

Stopped in Clarksdale, MS -Ground Zero Blues Club, home of the delta blues! Very Cool.

2678 mi - my SEUC (new nickname-Little Mermaid) performed well,
altitude change of 1000'+ & temps from 62 - 97 with humidity up & down.
Zippers TMAT did its job....

Only a couple issues:
-cruise didn't always catch, so I had to re-try a few times...
-headset/speaker switch never played both headset + speakers at same time...
-hydraulic clutch line chafing on the motor case...

Bayoubiker,
Glad your trip went well. I think it's pretty cool that you are able to take a business trip and combine that with our favorite hobby----riding scooters. A new bike, whether you got a new or a used one, needs that kind of road trip to find out where the little kinks are that need to be worked out.
