Ditto on the colors here too. I am digging the Brembos with ABS tho.  :2vrolijk_21:

Me also Chuck.  Though in the P&A section the Brembos are (for some reason  :2vrolijk_21: ) listed as having accessory fitment to the 08s only though.  Speaking specifically to retrofitting ABS, however, the calipers might very likely be irrelevant.  Rotation sensing is done on moving parts.  Controlling hydraulics are remote.  Might be a lot of extra/new plumbing to tie front and rear together.  But ABS as an accessory addition need not necessarily involve a caliper swap.

What chopper?

 :nixweiss:

I hope thats not what they call a chopper!

 :nixweiss:

That's what I thought too.  The new "chopper" was one of the first things I went to look for.  Saw that "Rocker" model and it's pictures.  Didn't realize until I compared notes here that THAT was supposed to be a chopper.  Captain America is rolling over in his grave.

So Don, ho long until you have remote operated saddlebag locks installed?  ;D

Saw that on the Ultra specs Chuck.  I ALMOST did mine that when I did the initial retrofit.  $30 at Radio Shack and it's an easy enough thing to do.

In fact almost did it with the only control being a fob.  But I wanted the switch in the dash.  To fill the empty hole and just so it might get seen now and again.  It's also a handy control to have from the seat when you don't want to reach in your pocket.

I didn't want another fob to carry around.  Between alarm and siren II that's really enough fob for one stupid motorcycle.  So I'm deferring judgement on this until I see if the new fob is or can be incorporporated in to a pre-existing fob function.  If not I'm perfectly content with what I've got.

Damn, I guess I'm going to have to wait until I can get a parts book in my hands to see what's what. :(

I just got a chance to look at all the new info.  Though thanks to a benevolent d00d and text messaging I heard about the ABS an hour or so ago.

That Buell that Chip nearly had a potty accident over looks really impressive on paper.  The 08 CVO paint shemes are (to me) kind of underwhelming again though.

The pics often lie about how good they look in person.  But the red Ultra (as much as I like red ones) was pretty been-there-done-that plain and not even all that attractive.  The white Ultra is an even blander version of the red one.  The copper bike was the best looking of the bunch but even it is something of a rehash of a paint set they released to the public jsut a few months ago.

Road Kings seem a bit better.  The blue one didn't do anything for me at all in the pictures.  The copper again isn't at all bad.  The black and silver isn't bad either.  Though I wish it seemed to "pop" a bit more.  A bit more punch in the line up would have been nice.

Not much new in accessories either.  The ABS interest that was supposed to show up on so many models was about as accurate as all the other wild ass guesses (now I'm going for the 09 Servicar).  ABS as an option is a step in the right direction though.  Having it standard on the SE Road King will mean we can at least see the package installed somewhere too.

Hope everyone else was less underwhelmed with the new offerings than I was.  Some nice stuff.  But nothing I got at all excited about (in the SE or the standard lines).  Seems like Harley is just marking time again another year.

To those that love the new ones and get something congratulations.  What each person likes is always the most important thing.  The red bike still floats my boat though.  Another year another reason not to be tempted  :2vrolijk_21: .
I figured this would add to your "Custom Title". :D

You know Daytona HD will get a $2k markup for the 105th 'treatment'.

Don't see anything that floats my boat, but for those of you who get a new one, it's all about what makes you happy.  If I had to pick an Ultra, it would have to be the Copper/Black, simply because the striping pattern does more for me than the parallel stripes on the other two.

Don't really care for the "nose" paint on the RK either.

Most of these bikes always look better in person though, so final judgement is better left until seen in the sun.

800 bucks for EACH chrome caliper?   :o :o   Same caliper as on my Vrod...very, very good brakes, BUT the V has a different sized rotor which makes a difference.

For those who hated the leather TP, I guess this is the answer.  Personally, they look like a regular Ultra to me.  I'll keep mine, TYVM...

ABS is a huge step forward, but I wonder where it's located?  It's on the V too, so it can't be very large.

Only $2k?

Figure they will also be painting little green geckos on the tanks and charging a grand for that as well.

Hope they do not read this.... oops.  :huepfenjump3:

So Fat Bastard will be charging 44k for the new models this year?

So far not at all tempted to buy an 08.  For those looking to buy, they will find lots to like.

Wonder if they squeezed ABS into a side cover and relocated electronics?  More likely 1/2 a saddlebag.  Possibly placed it in the larger tour pack?

In the V-Rod, the air box area would be best bet - we posted on that a while back.

Hope you and Suzanne had a great trip, BTW!

Saw that Joe.  Sure did.  I've got that set of used lowers here waiting to get painted too.  Maybe a fall project....
