Chip, which won't you be able to live without?  The silver/black Road King or that little Buell rocket ship?

Don

It's all about Nancy.
And I can tell you, Road Kings don't float her boat. (even silver and black ones)
Now the Buell, I LIKE IT!, will I have one, probably not. It's kinda like the dirt bikes I had. Awesome machines but only good for the purpose they were intended for. And at this point in my life the only time my knees touch the pavement is when I'm begging Nancy for,,,,,,, :o  ::)

What's funny is,
I was just about to post that after review of the 08's I felt sure there would be no changes in the TwoLane lineup.
Then I read your post!

So far not at all tempted to buy an 08.  For those looking to buy, they will find lots to like.

Wonder if they squeezed ABS into a side cover and relocated electronics?  More likely 1/2 a saddlebag.  Possibly placed it in the larger tour pack?

In the V-Rod, the air box area would be best bet - we posted on that a while back.

Hope you and Suzanne had a great trip, BTW!

You really think they stayed with the old half-saddlebag cop system or chose to plumb a bunch of hydraulics up to the tour pak and route that pluming alongside that big-assed harness to the amp?   Man I hope not.

Would love to think that if they built/bought a control system small enough to shoe-horn in to a V-Rod somewhere that the same small system would be used across the product lines.  It is Harley though.  So who knows......

I doubt seriously they would eat a saddlebag for the ABS, that would be sheer suicide for a touring bike. cops don't haul luggage, so they can live with the loss of space. I'm very interested in seeing how it all works out. Hoping it can be added without requiring a harness swap.

Suppose it could be handlebar mounted next to a Zumo for easy adjustment?  :huepfenjump3:

Will look forward to your pics.

Is Fly-by-wire really here? No more vibration?

Quote
The handlebar is internally wired with new Electronic Throttle Control for sleek looks and a new stabilizer system reduces engine vibration.

:)Don't think they look as good as my red & gold 07.  The copper is a nice color though. ;D

Chuck,

I would tend to agree, but some stuff the MoCo does just amazes me as to usability/space.  With a 6 gallon tank, wonder if a change could have been made to accommodate an ABS box under one of the side covers?

I was guessing you'd probably not be biting on the new stuff too.  If you were really jonesing for something that does what the Buell is doing there are things out there.  So you'd have already had it if you wanted it.  No changes on the horizon for me either.  Nothing there I'd ever like better than what I've got.  Get this red bitch running right again this fall and it'll be a love affair all over again.  Even now she's the girl that looks hot but just with technique that's a bit lazy when you want to ride her.  Get her technique unzipped again and I'll be on my knees again too  :2vrolijk_21: .

I agree, but using up a bag would be pushing it, even for Harley. If they can fit it on a v-rod, then someone should be fired if they use a different, less space efficient unit on the FL's

Don't see anything that floats my boat,

For those who hated the leather TP, I guess this is the answer.  Personally, they look like a regular Ultra to me.  I'll keep mine, TYVM...

Hate is such a strong word Terry!
I'm not feeling the love here!
And you been riding for a few days!
Relax, take a deep breath.
Your must be upset cause your bike is dirty?
Given the choice between an 06 and an new S/E 08 Ultra I would love to have an 06 Phaze.
(less the tourpak of course)

Nope, I'll let Rhino do it.  The system may need its Samaritans.

Hope its not along the line of human sacrifices......

This one is interesting for a number of reasons, if it works well.

ABS has my rapt attention.  Would love to know the retrofit parameters.
