Crap! Parts count is going up. Looks like the master cylinder is different too. This may get painful, ABS Brembos that is.
Sounds like Pinky will be joining Binx at the spa. :huepfenlol2:

How would you like to be the test dummy rider on a brand spankin' new MoCo Fly-by-wire?

Nope, I'll let Rhino do it.  The system may need its Samaritans.

Wow Ronnie the test dummy, oops I mean good samaritan   ::)

I'll bet you can add rotors to that list, Chief....

Might touch a little less than $2k if you add rotors, master cylinders, calipers, and the ABS box/wires that may or may not retrofit older models that well.

How will this work with out cables? I know I've seen them on boats but that's a whole different application. Does anyone in the auto industry use them?

Quite a few cars and trucks use "drive-by-wire" now, with more joining the club every year as models get upgraded/redesigned.  That stuff's old hat, now the hot stuff is steering and braking by wire.

The adjustable deflectors are already available.  58156-08 for dark smoke and 58166-08 for light smoke.  $100 each.

I'm still hoping that won't be necessary, but don't know. They look very similar, but you know how dependable that logic is.

Especially if the chrome front calipers are $800 by themselves. Should be able to recoup some on ebay tho for chrome rotors and master cylinder. I hope against hope that it's just a re-designed cover and not a whole new master cylinder.

It's definitely worthy of some homework, but might be cost prohibitive for me.

Dang it. More differences noted. Besides the radically different rotors, the rear master cylinder mount looks a lot different. I don't have those two bolts under the floorboard on mine. It's beginning to not look as plug-n-play as I had hoped.

I should have looked more closely earlier, before I said the new rotors looked similar to the existing ones. The ones on the CVOs look similar, but the stock rotors are WAY different.

Seems there was a thread a while back about why the Vrod Brembo's would not work on the Ultra's since the bolt pattern seemed to be the same.  The Vrod rotor is slightly larger in diameter, if I'm not mistaken, and that was the reason it was not a bolt on application.  I've looked on line, but can't find any rotors for Touring bikes that are limited to the 08 year, but that's not surprising at this point.

Alms for the poor? Alms for the poor?

A couple of years back I said I would wait for HD ABS, then fell for this 07 black/orange jester/vixen that turned out to be red/black.  But she is soooooo sweeeeet.

Figure the calipers are most likely replaced and even the master cylinders.  Then you add the ABS unit and Yikes!

Indeed!  Alms, alms, for the poor pre-08 CVO owners.........

Well, the deeper I dig and the closer I inspect photos, I'm finding more and more differences which translates to more and more $$$.

Here's a shot of the rear master cylinder, definitely different, requiring frame changes since it appears to be mounted to a bracket instead of the tang it hooks to on previous year's bikes.
