Appears to be my consolation prize as well - these 2 upgrades.

Suppose taking a car from non ABS to full ABS is expensive also, but $2k++ to go ABS - not likely for me, even with alms.....alms for the poor non ABS CVO rider, alms......

I thought I was gettin' all your alms, buddy... :'( :'(  I needs 'em...

Maybe it's just my imagination, but doesn't the overall response to the CVO lineup by members of the site seems to be just a bit above lukewarm?  Even though we know the HD website doesn't do the paint justice and the actual colors will look brilliant in person, something really seems to be missing this time.  ABS, Brembos, 6 gal tank are all significant improvements that we probably would all want on our rides. For me the disappointment is that we all knew there'd be a new Touring model to replace the SEUC/2, right?...it's gotta be a Road Glide again or maybe a Street Glide or...? I have to admit being disappointed that the SEUC carried over - even though it is a fantastic bike and probably the best package and most popular CVO ever (guess that explains it).  Somebody on this site said it best as he explained how "he felt like a kid at Christmas" waiting for the introduction to the '08 CVOs.  Me too...only to get pretty much the same gift as last year.  Nice thought, but give me something exciting, different, way cool that I would drool over.  Even though I love my SEEG2, I was still tempted to get an SEUC2 last year - I love that blue.  This year with even more options than last, I don't feel the urge to get on the list for a SEUC3.  The thrill is kinda' gone this year for me.   Oh well...I'll still go to the dealer and I will think the new bikes are all nice, but it just wasn't Christmas this time. Spyder - I suppose so...guess I'm too old school. I still remember how cool new car introduction time every September in the 60s and 70s. Remember how all the dealers would cover the showroom windows with newspaper until the official introduction?  If you were a good customer, maybe you'd be allowed back in the service department waaaay in the corner to see the newest Z/28 or a plain jane Satellite that just happened to have a hemi engine. HD really does a great job getting us hyped up and they did do a good job in the non-CVO lineup this year.  I am hyped about the Rocker...hmmm?  124 engine? paint job, loud as hell exhaust...that would be a nice ride for tooling around.  I can't pretzel myself to even get on the 149 HP Buell, but that's a cool bike too. OK Spyder, I get your point - quit my complainin' -  PJ

No waaaay.  It's part of who we all are.....and we can criticize 'em, but don't let an 'outsider' do the same.  >:( har!  :drink: spyder

Bro, while you were gone riding, begging for alms was almost a daily occurrence around this board.

Noew 08s just amplified the need.

I will send you an alm, its in the mail and should be there by Tuesday...........  ;D

Glad you & Diva are back safe & sound.  Well, considering CVO OCD, the 'sound' part could be an overstatement.....  ;D

You think so?  Maybe.  But I can easily get excited or interested in a nice new product or signficant change (at least I think I can).  And I didn't see a lot to get terribly excited about this time.  At least from a visual perspective.

Lots of engineering changes.  Most all of which we can't really use without the new bike that matches them.  Given HD's history with significant new product offerings, however, not being able to guinea pig a retrofit of a mission critical new system probably isn't a bad thing anyway.

Not a lot to get real excited about though.  Very much a placeholder year.  All the models stayed the same.  Even models extending the now standard 2 year product runs.  Have to wonder if it means that the SEUC3 was brought out again just so that EVERYTHING could be introduced new next year with lots of hoopla and excitement or if the entire CVO thing is being wound down.

After the SEUC's paint disasters it was interesting to read that Calibre is now the CVO painter again.  The new hardware is at least interesting.  But there's really not a lot this time around to get wildly excited over.

Wonder if Harley is considering offering the CVO models the way the auto companies offer high performance versions of popular models?

Not just a year or 2 and rotate, leave them as a sort of "upgrade" over standard models.  Like Corvette, for example.

All it takes is more benches and more assemblers in York and their dollar sales per bike inch steadily up with each CVO bike.......  as well as dollar market share for motorcycles.

Spyder

They are out there but chit who wants to pay 17-5 or 18 for a 5 year old bike.
NOT ME!
A like new one for me is 30K miles or less that's been kept up nice!

REALLY
With a few bucks and some TLC the 03 can run circles around an 08.
Plus there's that color!

Maybe I'm getting old but running 140 isn't as important as it use to be.
I'm starting to feel happy at 125.
Good thing Nancy is younger!
She loves that horsepower!

Keep looking Spyder!

Hey Chip, just saw one sitting on the floor at Bumpus today. Took a few pictures for you but forgot to look at the price, has 8,061 miles and looks like new. Let me know if you are interested and I'll find out.

Hey, Chip,
Check out the tread by MJZ, all you need is a little black paint.
